I still have no names for these coming two dolls. But I"m not going to say much about these two dolls as if you have read the previous journal entries, it's pretty much the same. If there is something I really want to say, I'll say it, but otherwise, enjoy the pictures!
I carved a little bit away from the face so that it looked like a hood was completely around her head. Below are the pieces that make up her goggles.
I have a few of these angel charms that I thought might be interesting on her and future clones of her.
The original design was something like the wings of a Wright Brothers plane, and I wasn't entirely sure how to make them. I didn't want to use actual wood because I wasn't sure if it would burn in the oven during baking, so I found this pendant that I had bought that looks like wings instead.
I actuallly adore her face, I think she is adorable with her bright red lips and flushing cheeks.
Full collection to this point, and at this point, I had misplaced my clearcoat, so she looks flat compared to the other three. I found it the next day and finally glazed her.
Doll 5 construction
This is the most challenging figure I've made so far. I wasn't sure how I'd accomplish his mane of hair and beard, and I never did get to add his mustache, which upset me. The eyes didn't turn out right, and overall, I'm not that happy with this first make of this character. I hope in the future to change him up a little bit.
He looks like he is just legs, which he pretty much is lol
After seeing how skinny his legs were and how small the feet ended up being that were contacting with the surface, I decided to try to build up shoes.
He looks like a horseshoe....
I really wanted to give him the hands he does in the original design, but something to hold onto as well. It meant having to reinforce the hands with some wire. It's not exactly a strong wire, it's just jewelry wire, but it's enough to hold it into place until it bakes.
About to go into the oven, here is what he looked like. I was happy with him up until I got to the face. The face kind of fell away, and I hope to recover it with painting. The eyes aren't recognizable as eyes since they ended up being so much larger than I had thought they would be. I couldn't think of anything else that I had though that I could use for eyes, at least right away. I'll have to change that in the future. The beard fluff mane thing turned out blah I think. I hope that it looks better when I get to painting him.
