In my last journal, I spoke about the new steampunk figures that I'm going to be making. I also posted some preview pictures from the second figure I started working on, but didn't get further than that. Well, here we go!
Here is my work space while painting. After the last guy was finished painting, I had run out of spaces in the large clear pallet and needed to clean everything out to put new paints in. So if I messed up and needed to recover a spot, I didn't have the paint anymore to do so. This time, I found other things I could use for pallets later on so that I wouldn't have to worry about throwing out paint I might need.
Up close and personal. At this point, I didn't realize that the blue I had been painting her was almost the same color as the Doctor Who TARDIS. Weird, since I combined blue, green, and black. I was expecting it to be more turquoise. I was happy to see that all the pieces I stuck into the sculpy actually stayed and didn't fall off after baking =D
After realizing the blue was TARDIS blue, I decided I would go with blue and white for her clothing. I didn't give her brown hair because I felt it would be too dull and she really needed something other than her face to brighten her up, so she became a fiery red head! I did keep something else from Doctor Who for this character tho. With realizing the color scheme, I decided she would be named after the humanized version of the TARDIS from the episode "The Doctors Wife." So little missy here is Detective Idris!
For the most part, she is done, just needs a layer of clear coat and then she's good. She's slightly taller than Felix, but I think that's ok. They won't all be the same size after all. It would be very difficult to make sure that they are the same size. Oh hey, look, Doctor Whooves is in the background!
And now, I shall be onto my next figure!
