I know it doesn't seem like I come to Livejournal anymore, but I do long on every single day, but it's mostly to check with is going on in the steamfashion community. I haven't been posting because I don't know what to say anymore. Well, I think I might have some updates here.
Animeland Wasabi
The convention was last weekend, and I did sell jewelry at it. However, things did not go over very well. I had several new pieces made with resin casting, but I did not have the time to polish them and make them the best they could be, so they didn't sell very well, and nearly half of my collection of jewelry was that stuff. Five pieces were left overs from NDK, and one of those pieces sold! Most of the jar designs that I did this year did sell, only one was left behind. Someone did buy it, very cheaply because it was the last day and they said it was the only money they had left, but they came back later having to return it because they needed the money back to pay back a friend. I didn't mind so much, but it did look good on the guy! It's too bad! There was a steampunk ball, or so I was told, but I didn't go because apparently you had to pay for it, and I was too worried about having the money to pay back Danee for the badge I had to have in order to be in Artist Alley, and for the room payment. I did meet two very awesome steampunks, who came by several times to talk to me, and even showed me some pictures they took at one of the booths. they said they would send me a copy, via email, of the post of them. I'm actually really excited, these guys seemed really fun.
Hair
Recently I got a haircut, but my stylist cut it VERY short. On the sides, it is barely an inch long, and if I don't style it, it pretty much looks like a military cut. I absolutely hate it!! But that aside, there is another problem. The last several months, I've had this... itch, very horrible itch on the back of my head, lower and to the left. It's next to impossible to not scratch it, but whenever I do, it flakes horribly. Because I can't see it, mom's been the one to tell me the condition of the 'spot' on the back of my head. We had stopped at an Ulta one day, and the woman who we had take a look at it, in hopes of suggesting a shampoo I could use tohelp clear it up, had suggested that she thought it was Ringworm. After doing some research online, I determined it was NOT ringworm, if it was, my hair would have fallen out. Instead, I came to the conclusion it was Psoriasis. But after a visit to a doctor for something completely unrelated--i will explain later--the doctor said she believed it was seborrheic dermatistis, which is very similar to psoriasis. It's basically a skin condition that causes itchy, red, scaley skin, in oily areas... Normally on the scalp, but also can be on the face, chest, or back. And apparently it is common. The bad thing about it, is that I wear black and dark colors for work, so trying to not scratch at work is very difficult, because just on scratch can cause the flaking to get everywhere on my shoulders and back. I have tried just about everything I can off of the shelf to help this manage... It usually ends up working for about a week, and then it just goes back to how bad it was, or starts to worsen. I'll end up having to try to find a dermatologist to visit and see if I can get something else for treatments.
Work
My hours are finally picking up, which is great because the last couple months or so, because of the horrible weather we had at the beginning of the year, I was sent home early almost all the time. And in the last couple weeks, I have had to have an incident report, that ever since filing it, has been causing nothing but problems. There was one day where one of my coworkers was pulling a waterbottle out of the fridge in the drive-thru, which is hanging off the wall above your head, and several of the bottles fell out on the ground. I waited until the bottles stopped falling in order to help her pick them up, but as I bent down to start picking them up, another fell out and hit me on the head. I didn't think much of it until later when I was starting to feel a little unusual. I asked to file an incident report, incase things did get bad from what had happened. I had to go to a doctor and get checked--but my emloyer didn't drive me. I had to drive myself home, and Mom had to drive me. After spending almost 3 hours waiting, it was diagnosed that I had a very mild concussion with no lose of conciousness. My first thought was "Wow, so what if I HAD lost conciousness while driving to the doctor? What would my employer have done then?!" Every since then, I've been getting snail mail, voicemails, all sorts of crap, about my incident report, and who to send my bills to if I got any at the house, and special perscription cards if I needed any medications from what had happened...
Also, Mom and dad are unemployed. Whoop-ee.... I'm the only one with a job, or at least I was the only one until my uncle came home, but he's hardly home ever, so it's pretty much just me working.
Other than all that, I'm ot sure what else there is to say, so see ya later?
