Its Friday the 13th and Freddy Krueger aficionados around the globe are breaking out their laser disks and having a regular nerdfest. Actually my sister was a huge freddy fan as a kindergartener. In fact, she was obsessed with biting and pinching at that age too. Connection? Maybe? Anyway she's 23 now and she outgrew that.
But while you're avoiding black cats and ladders here's a little playlist I liked to call:
I Have a Fake Sunburn and slash or 13 Songs for Friday the 13th, ooo, Spooky
"We've Got a Big Mess on Our Hands" The Academy Is... I haven't listened to this song in a while. So here it is.
"That's How You Know" Amy Adams (from Enchanted) its just cute and fun. Enchanted sing-along party at my place? No? No, you're right...it was a dumb idea. I was kidding.
"Its Not You Its Me" Coconut Records
"Just Like Heaven" the Cure
"Almost Lover" A Fine Frenzy
"Macy's Day Parade" Green Day
"Is This It" the Strokes Do you ever listen to songs and get instantly transported to another time and place? Because when this song starts I'm 15 and with my sister Lexi (Ms. Krueger) and we're drooling over Julian Casablancas. Man he was hot. I forgot how awesome this record was.
"Build Me Up Buttercup" the Temptations One day I wanna use this in a movie. Picture it coming out of stereo speakers over a semi-depressing scene. I can see/hear it now. Man, I need to make a movie.
"I Should Have Known Better" She&Him The Beatles do a great version of this song too. I'm not sure if they wrote it.
"Hate That I Love You" Rihanna f. Neyo
"After Hours" Phantom Planet
"Tom Traubert's Blues" Patrick Stump (Tom Waits cover) Yeah, I still don't like Tom Waits, but P.Stump makes everything good.
"Get Out" Jojo If I believed in guilty pleasures this would be one. IF, remember, IF I felt guilty for loving this song.
