I'm going to have to tell this to maddie next time she thinks suicide is the best answer. (let's hope that never happens again because that was a horrible time. just horrible.)

ok, yeah, that one's a long one. but it's still a good quote. I used it in one of my journals for Mr. Johnson's class.
Mr. Johnson, BTW, is not one of my favorite teachers right now.
I was talking about how children should have the rigth to learn about Same-sex couples starting from when they are in kindergarden and how i listened to a commertial on the radio that was saying that they souldn't. Mr. Johnson started talking to me about it and he asked, "why do you think children should learn about same- sex couples?"
I replied, "WEll, they are exsposed to opposite-sex couples at such a young age so why shouldn't they learn about same-sex couples?"
"How would you exsplain sex to them?"
"You don't have to tell them about sex because they don't even know about normal sex at that age either."
"But if you tell them about same-sex couples, the question of sex is bound to come up."
"Not if they are learning it in kindergarden. What kindergardner askes about sex?"
"The question will come up at some point."
"Yes, but not when they are in kindergarden. All they know need to no at that age is that this man loves that man and they can't have children so their child is adopted."
"But how will you exsplain sex?"
"THEY DON'T NEED TO LEARN ABOUT SEX."
" What will you tell them when they ask about same- sex sex?"
He wouldn't let the topic of sex out of the discussion and i got really pissed at him.
