I realised once that if I *could* fix everything, I'd never ever get a day off to play music (which is what I'm *supposed* to do) because I'd be in great demand, or I'd be an unloved and unloveable selfish bastard for telling everyone "no".
As it is, my special set of "what I can fix" skills is mostly helpful to me and to the people who need me and I don't have to quit my dayjob to use them.
The key here, miss Mish, is to remember that sometimes in life, you have to put yourself first. If you are not taken care of, there is no way you can take care of anyone else.
Those who love you appreciate what you do for them, and understand when you simply cannot.
If they don't....then mayhaps their role in your life needs to be re-examined.
*hugs* He does appreciate what I do for him; I'm the one feeling bad because there's things I want to fix for him but can't. I need my magic wand, dammit! Oh, and look for a package in the next week or so (I"m working overtime so not sure how quick I'll get it to the post office) :)

In this case, it's someone who would be on my 'help them' list even if I were the busiest person on earth, which makes it extra frustrating.
