Walking to school

E and I have some of the most amazing conversations walking to school. Today I mentioned that I hadn't bought something in Mass because of the tax there. He asked why there are taxes.

Then the incredible breakdown of tribal organization, work division, trades vs services, and social responsibity emerged. How our 'tribe' interacted with other 'tribes' and how the social necessity of government and public works evolve from an expanding population base.

He's 8 years old and I'm barely keeping ahead of him. Whoa.
