Description of World: It wasn't much different from the real world, until the year 2041 when a young boy in the United Kingdom was discovered with telekinetic powers. Research revealed that somehow a new section of DNA was inserted into the genome which changed a human's capacities and capabilities. At least, that's how it appeared, with verifications cropping up and making the subject of mutants a hot topic throughout the world. The UK, where the mutants were first discovered and in the highest occurance, has also experienced the most dramatic and violent of reactions. By 2043 mutant hate crimes escalate into a two year 'War of Blood' that the country struggled with in 2045 and 2046. Strikes, riots, walk-outs and various levels of political violence. Admist the civil unrest, an extreme right-wing political party called the TrueBlood Party, under the charismatic Hastings Warden, became part of a coalition government in 2048.
The same year, the Biological Differentiation Laws were passed. From this point on, mutants in the United Kingdom were no longer legally human, and were instead subject to incarceration or even execution. The TrueBlood Party took over the government by 2056, leaving PM Warden a barely-disguised dictator. Censorship, militarisation, the cult of personality and the insular behaviour all typical of authoritarian states followed. Fear and hatred sparked a terrible hunt for mutants, who were increasingly hunted down via blood tests and barred from social services, civil rights and eventually even from liberty.
The Biological Differentiation Laws were introduced in 2048 based on the work of one James Pihanna, who offered forward a scientific answer to the question of whether humans or mutants. He reverted to a biological definition: that members of the same species could interbreed. He later terribly regretted what his words were used to do, and committed suicide in 2058. By this time, however, his son Christopher Pihanna and daughter-in-law Samantha Davies had become not only leading biologists but the creators of a new area of study: mutobiology. This included the causes of the mutation, reasons for its spread, the effects that it had and how medicine had to adapt to deal with the changes. It was lucrative and necessary, and Christopher in particular threw himself into it, careful to keep his own political ideology quiet. It was considered by the government to be very unfortunate that the two skilled scientists had to be eliminated in 2077.
From 2069, all mutants discovered were automatically detained in sites in remote parts of the British Isles, whose naming followed the pattern [Alpha][One] where Alpha/Beta/Gamma denoted the danger of the mutants and the security needed, whilst the attached number indicated the age of the site. At most of these sites, the mutants were simply corralled and left mostly to their own devices, whilst drugs designed to dampen, counteract or permanently remove the powers were tested on them. Site AlphaFour was the most infamous of these sites, due to its high-risk, high-security, high-budget organisation. There were many deaths there over the seven years for which it was open. The residents were kept in cell-like rooms, given a limited budget and amount of communal space, but the pressure was always high and the desire for freedom always great, leading to frequent and bloody violence.
Personality: Lily, at the base of everything, is self aware, straight forward, and decidedly two-faced to an expressive degree. Some would even say two-faced is a good word, not just as a hypocrite, but because she can switch from showing one side of her personality to the other so quickly, you'd think she was one of those folk lore creatures that had multiple faces with each one representing a certain emotion or personality. While she can be painfully honest with her opinion and straight in advice, the girl easily turns around and does the opposite without batting an eyelash. Lily is a girl that's intentionally offensive as well as intentionally sweet. She's usually with little reservation and holds herself with confidence. A young woman that knows the kind of person she is, and doesn't want to change. Naturally, this makes her someone that people could find almost admirable, or (as is more likely,) easily off-putting
They really can't be blamed if that becomes the case, too. While she's more aware and careful than she seems, Lily acts like personal space and business doesn't actually exist. Sometimes it's harmless affection, like giving quick pecks to the cheek. Then there are times when she'll just be in your face, or hanging over you to add presence to whatever is being judged of yours. There's the times when she's making a point of being antagonistic and even harassing and abusing others, typically older men or those trying to display a sense of authority. Then later you'll see her actually acting her age, chilling and having a bit of fun. Joking, poking fun at people in a more innocent way, and sometimes even showing streaks of generosity. The biggest consistency is how straight she is to people, save for those occasional times when she decides to outright lie to someone, and how she works for self-convenience. The girl likes nice things, and to do things in the easiest manner so her lifestyle is as comfortable as possible. Why bother in acting gentle, or keeping mind of social niceties, when it doesn't really help anything in the end. So she will say things that sound insulting to some, and flat out insult people, but at least it's not exaggerated or undeserving in her mind.
Even more, as noted earlier, Lily is very aware of how she acts and how it can be interpreted or felt by others. Should she lie to make people feel better; bend down so someone feels secure? It wouldn't really benefit her, and acting like that without compensation is too much work. It doesn't always have to be a physical compensation, but even self gratification, like standing up for someone against a pushy guy that's harassing someone she doesn't necessarily dislike. If she likes or feels like someone is on something of the same side, or just worth looking out for, then that's also enough to go out of her way to defend. That's what you do, right? Which is also why she'll keep her current 'toxic' situation in mind while around such pals.
Deeper down, Lily understands what it is that makes her act in such impulsive, brash ways. It's no secret that she has daddy and authority problems. Given her history, it's completely justified. Those problems make her want to push boundaries and keep the feeling of being in charge of herself and, if need be, her surroundings. So she'll go in circles until an opportunity and advantage come up. To take shortcuts, she'll read body language and appearances and make assumptions to work off of, and even forgo personal safety. Whether an act or sincere, she'll show little to no fear of what most people would. Like having a gun pointed at her face, bees, snakes, illegal drugs or getting a needle stuck in her. Acting fearless doesn't make her so, though. Even if there were no chance of it happening, she's afraid of her father and returning to his household. It's caused some of the more aggressive traits, and the determination to take any job and do anything, as long as it prevented her even seeing the man again. At the same time, in times of vulnerability (like after a purging,) she'll even act near catatonic if it would get her away from the thoughts, despite how humiliating it would be to be seen that way.
Background: Olivia Walker was born the 20th of December 2064, and grew up in the city of London. Her parents, Harry and Lucy, were the type that had worked hard for financial security despite the costly lifestyle of living in the city. To Harry, that financial security was very important, and in turn enforced a strict lifestyle to keep in touch with the side of society that would allow him to prosper. As the higher societies were quite anti-mutant, this made Harry desperately follow suit. On top of saying what Harry would do, should one [a mutant] be in his house, there was constant hatred and fear of what could happen should his own child actually be one of the freaks. As Olivia's eyes were more violet, where as his were grey and Lucy's blue, paranoia made the man more strict, to a physically abusive level over time. Lucy, while unable to will herself to stand up and try to change her husband, did her best to provide comfort and as much safety otherwise in the time.
With Harry working most of the time, it was Lucy that was around, and the first to notice any abnormalities. Severe enough vomiting spells that would last for days; kids Olivia played with getting slightly sick (minor fevers, nausea, dizziness;) Pets acting strange for weeks before they died far younger than they should. They were signs of her daughter being an actual mutant, not something as simple as making Elizabeth Taylor references. With Olivia not understanding what was happening, and what was probably motherly instinct, Lucy covered everything up that she could. Make excuses for the dogs being gone, claiming that kids were sick due to bugs around school or that there was something bad that they ate. These things covered the problems, but didn't smooth things out at home. Each event made Harry a little more severe, more paranoid and desperate to make things look 'normal.' As such, there was a point Olivia had been taking piano, karate, soccer, cheerleading, gymnastics, choir and other activities before enough illness spells had her idling out of each one. Every time that happened, Olivia understood very well how disappointing she was to her father, and every time she started to care a little less.
By adolescence, Olivia had grown clever and decisive on how she's be around certain people. Really just noticing who to be casual around, and which ones she'd make verbal jabs to both peers and adults to alienate herself from them. About at the age of twelve, Olivia was caught with a boy around the middle of foreplay... by her father. Having reached this stage of delinquency, not only had he started to lose his temper more easily, but forced her into a clinic to have a copper IUD placed to lower the possible problems that could come up because of her. This would have been the last straw, but with the social ties she did have, and her mother, she held out until she finished secondary (middle) school. The very night she had graduated, Olivia took what money was in the house, packed her things and disappeared. Living on her own came with several difficulties, going through the money due to living expenses and having been robbed, things had grown desperate. Homeless shelters came with the risk of being tested for mutant genes, as well as getting sent back home. For a few months Olivia lived out of dumpsters, in parks, railway stations and anywhere else she could safely spend some time at. Then in Soho, a man had offered her a job as a courier of types. Essentially it was a simple role in the drug trafficking community, spreading out to personally servicing the customers, watching over her 'higher ups,' and even testing a small amount of product as an act of trust for some in the ring.
For one reason or another, maybe even luck, Olivia was moved to work in a strip club after a few months. Adopting a new name, Lily, she grew comfortable with the new career. Over the next year, that was what she was doing, and gaining some new experience. Like gaining the courage to put a gun up against someone that had tried to hold up the strip club, or dealing with actual customers who caused problems. So Lily adapted, started seeing danger a little differently and took the stripping and whoring as an opportunity to relieve stress herself. After saving up enough money, Lily purchased a set of hormone patches that would speed up and boost the growth in her chest, as well as other areas, for a more mature and appealing look. On top of that, she and a group of coworkers from the club pooled together to get a nice flat, with an unspoken understanding that there was a mutant living among them. They didn't give it much mind, and things became comfortable. They had their lives and work, and would also hang out and even marathon those ancient Doctor Who and Torchwood shows.
Though not linking it to the hormone patches, Lily started to notice and understand more about her powers. Not only were the effects starting to set in faster and more intense, but she was able to link the effects to her emotions over time, and saw it as an opportunity for work. Even better, it was like they had gotten addicted to her, and were leaving even better tips. With the customers being hooked, and bringing in even more money, it seemed like there weren't any risks.
Then it was the middle of November, 2082, that things had changed. Somehow her father managed to find out where she lived, and called the apartment. The day was already pretty bad without him saying that he'll clean up his 'mess.' Set into a foul enough mood, stewing on it during work led to her releasing a poison more dangerous than any she had produced before. Several in the area had been affected, needing help to breathe and suffering intense nosebleeds, tinnitus and debilitating migraines. One in particular ended up with his throat closed up and something unclear about his throat. Now, while LIly wasn't book smart, she had enough common sense to know what would happen. Unless she did something herself, she'd be taken and forced into blood tests and one of the worst of the camps for having been hiding so long. So after gathering her funds (leaving an envelope to cover her portion of rent for a few months,) she packed up everything that could fit onto a personal luggage trolly and put on a disguise to minimize problems in public while on the way to a clinic. It's on the way out of the apartment that she ends up in Adstringendum.
Abilities/Additional Notes: There are multiple factors to consider with this ability, though all are connected and not to be considered a case of dual differences. In the way that many poisonous creatures have bright, fascinating, colours to their appearance, Olivia's eyes are also similar in how violet her eyes are. It won't be possible to figure out where, exactly, the poison is composed within the body until Olivia is in position for a proper autopsy, or a skin sample which isn't something that would be offered willingly. While released differently, and on an internal epidermal layer, Olivia has numerous parotoid glands in skin, including the inner skin that continues on the inside of the mouth, as well as beside the parotid (Salivary) glands. It's clear, however, that the properties can be changed, and at the same time, antibodies shift to follow the change as well. What changes, exactly, seem to be mostly subconscious on instinct and desire that the female wants to achieve, which is probably how she stayed under the radar at her occupation. Long term effects, and how long it takes for the poison to break down, seems to be able to vary on it's own as well, and become based on what the exact properties are.
Various effects range from euphoria, hormonal and pheromone changes, hallucinations much like other drugs, heightened blood pressure and heart rate, over to more dangerous effects like anaphylaxis, paralysis, blindness, tachycardia, and even necrosis, as we believe. It is due to the antibodies naturally composed, much like other animals, that Olivia does not succumb to these effects. If the toxin released lasts past an hour, or comes coupled with dangerous effects, it's best to take care while pulling plasma and blood, both containing the richest sources of antibodies, from the host. Luckily, unless Lily's been in a foul mood or tries to put herself into one, the toxins tend to be relatively harmless and temporary.
Release is given through the pores, saliva, and breath, with the latter having the widest range, but smallest concentration. Due to this difference, it is difficult for her to fall to effects from other toxins, but not impossible. From that, she has never been able to develop a dependence on alcohol, drugs, or even smoking- Leaving her to have it recreationally without going overboard. However, with constantly producing toxins, a release must be given if stored for too long. This is done through vomiting, or by pulling it out with a needle. If the stored up toxin is not released, Olivia would end up going to a hibernate state, to avoid a backlash and slow the production, relying on someone else as she'd be unable to release it on her own. It is because the glands are internal that a portion released goes in to the body, and causes the build-up that requires this release of purging, as the body seems to refuse to burn through the toxins in the body despite the anti-toxins that are running through her veins.
Latex, Lace and Leather
Due to Lily's ability, it's easy to get a musty feeling from poison secreting from the skin. Normal clothes usually trap and had proven uncomfortable when she was younger. So aside from making sure all her clothes were tailored to fit the best they could, many outfits took the route of either breathing very freely or not at all. Latex trapped the secretions, minimizing the area of effect and becomeing a staple in Lily's wardrobe. Even better, not all latex clothes had to be skin tight, though she certainly preferred it to the feeling mentioned prior. Leather, while not as effective, made for nice variety. Lace on the other hand breathed extremely well, with the drawback of staining from the toxins and fibers being worn down more quickly. While Lily's wardrobe is made of more than clothing with these fabrics, it definitely makes up at least 80% of it. Aside from clothing basics, the boxes she has with her also have things like wigs, shoes, contacts and other similar things. On the more practical side, there are also some medical equipment that help her with purging if she's unable to do so naturally.
Skills by experience
Like above, this is more notable than being an ability. While not perfect, there are some things Lily is capable or even proficient at. She's physically flexible, with some strength due to a few of the extra-curricular activities as a child, utilized somewhat during her job. Aside from that, she's learned to read and pick up on body language. Though sometimes she'll make up and assume the context for how the person physically acts, she considers herself rather proficient at this skill.

[The first thing that the feed turns on to is the sky, though quickly shaking from being picked up. Before seeing who it is handling the PCD, a distinctly female, London accent is heard.]
Huh. Yeobaseo...? Looks like it's doing something.
[A little more shaking and tilting until the camera finally focuses on a pale teenaged girl with
long red hair, green eyes and a rather curious expression on her face.]
Bloody hell, this is so smack.
[Oh, whoops, there's tilting again as she's looking at the other sides of the device for a few seconds.]
So... I also get a Doctor in this hallucination, right? Big blue box, loves to ramble on about subjects that probably can't be followed, has something that looks like a naffing fat pen that lights up at one end and makes whirring sounds. Because if I don't get that, I want my money back on whatever got me tripping this hard.
Sample RP:
Slowly the phone went back to the receiver, though Lily's grip didn't loosen on the device for a good ten seconds. Thirty seconds. A minute before her hand finally released the blasted contraption. Then again, it wasn't the phone that had put her in a foul mood, so much as the person who was on the line. It wasn't some rat bastard that deserved less than poisoned shit forced into his veins with an IV before getting flayed and-
Before she realized it, the blonde had grabbed the phone and chucked it against a wall. Breathing heavily, Lily looked towards the telly for the time. Stared until a decision was brought about and walked back into her bedroom to open up one of the packed up boxes. Knowing the scum responsible for half her DNA, he'd put her appearance on some kind of alert. Pulling out a red long-haired wig and digging down a little deeper for a couple of sealed plastic blister-like containers she went to the bathroom muttering empty promises that were less than polite. Things really knew how to snowball into a shit storm, didn't it? All she wanted was a nice life, with a job that wouldn't question her abilities so much and enjoying the comforts money could buy. Was that really so much to ask for?
About 10 minutes later, those contacts were really a bitch, Lily returned to her bedroom to close boxes and set them back up on the personal luggage trolley. She had to work quickly, given how long the argument with her father had been, if her quiet departure was to take off. Pulling the straps up and to the handle, the teen paused at the sound of sirens before breathing out a sigh of relief as it continued to pass on by. Not wasting any more time, the personal trolley was grabbed and rolled straight for the lift. As the lift moved to the ground floor, she muttered, "straight out the door, turn left, don't look back," to steel her nerves a bit more. Yet holding a gun against someone while running off of adrenaline was so much easier.
A final *DING*, a deep breath and Lily walked steadfast towards the door once the lift opened up. Right for the door. Out the door, turn left. Out the-
Where was the door?
"Fuckin' hell. What in the goddamn name of Christ is going on here?"
The entire place was destroyed, and empty, and looks nothing like Soho. Looking around, slackjawed and wide eyed, it took a good while before her brain started up again. Sort of. "Just bloody stellar... Out to actually do something that could remotely be considered responsible, and I suddenly trip hard enough to be stuck in some hinky rundown place. This is all that bastard Jule's fault, with the chaffing marathons."
Really, she could go on for an hour, at the very least, just ranting off about something she didn't understand. It wouldn't have been the first time, and she really would have, if she didn't feel something get kicked. Looking down, Lily's forehead wrinkled a bit as she knelt down to pick the device up. "Huh. Yeobaseo...? Looks like it's doing something."
