1. I am working on the prompts from the previous.
2. My brain on Big Finish
"What do we do now?"
"Get locked up. Why change the habit of a lifetime?"
What is it with DW and vikings? Sundviks and heroic epitaphs and frost demons of Jotunheim.
"Isn't this Arizona, I thought they gave them away with breakfast cereal." - the Doctor on guns.
Four horsemen are always on rotation.
Seven just traveled from atmosphere to ground using his umbrella and some engine venting. omg.
"Things do get lost you know." (technically, this is Eleven, not Big Finish)
3. I was standing about five feet away when the bus stop sign fell over. Too windy, I assume. Normally, though? I'm standing right next to it (if it hadn't been raining, I wouldn't have been sheltering under the bridge). It looked the like the bottom of the pole rusted through.
4. The complicated thing about listening to Scandal in Belgravia is when you get to the point that you're wondering why Harry Pierce got one over on Mycroft Holmes and if this is how Erin inserted herself into multiple terrorist organisations.
And then when one researches, one discovers that Sherlock aired about three months after the end of series ten (and far before the Spooks movie), and one wonders if this is how Erin built her cover for the terrorist insertion (because it was splashy and ridiculous and convoluted, which is very Spooks-like)
Which leads to the following going nowhere and resurrecting people ficlet (spoilery for series 10 of Spooks?):
Erin Watts has always felt that there were certain precipices she never wanted to stand on. This one, with its sordid little details and its ridiculous mind games, is certainly one of them. But when Harry Pierce says jump, she follows. It doesn't matter if it could mean her death or eventual ruin, only that it protects the country that she loves.
"You'll find all the details you need in here," Ruth says as she hands over the folder to her. "Most of it's pretty straight-forward, but we've worked up a profile for how to go around setting the bait on this one."
"I'm still not sure why we're doing this," mutters Tariq, "It's not as though he's doing anything harmful."
"We just want to keep tabs."
"Then there's the other one, of course." Ruth fiddles with a pen, more a habit than an actual nervous tic these days. She's been much more confident in herself since being stabbed (Erin assumes it's related to the fact that she survived, that she's survived more than any of them ever expected). Erin appreciates it, as she has always appreciated Ruth--after all, Ruth is a valuable asset to any team, and Erin demands the best.
- Because, of course, Tariq and Ruth are both dead, but fuck that noise.
Also, if the above dialog is too obscure, it goes something like this:
Irene Adler is a cover identity built to fuck with Mycroft and ultimately insert Erin into a terrorist gang by convoluted means. "the other one" is a direct reference to Moriarty, however, as Harry wants his balls as well.
When Sherlock rescues Irene from execution, it's part of the cover of her taking down part of Moriarty's network, it's just that Sherlock doesn't realize it (and your pulse would race, too, if you were worried about when you would see your daughter again and if she were really safe and if you could stand this idiot any longer)
