Yesssssssss. Yesssssssss! This was frakking fantastic!! I loved the tone, the continuity nods, the relationships! And your characterization was spot on--I loved Civvie!Sam who can still hold his own, and Kara making the risky choices. Absolutely loved this. Great job!!! :D :D :D

Only you could get me to read a story with those damned bugs in it (I am lacking in whatever allows people to enjoy horror/thrillers). I love your versions of all our BSG guys (including Zarek, Obnoxious Guy for a crummy cause), and I loved this story.
I was like "Wait, maybe I should add in Newt, but--omg, Kacey, that is so wrong, and YET." Sam is apparently very good with kids in my head, despite him never interacting with them on-screen.
I wonder if that's because of his status as one of the dads of the new generation of Cylons? Hrm.
As you can probably tell, I'm making some head-way on my extremely long list of fic to read :)
I loved the relationship dynamics here and how you worked in so many characters. (Zarek, in particular, was a perfect fit.) I was quite a bit sad when Sharon and Karl 'died' but then they didn't and that reveal was so very fitting. And even though I'm not big on kid!fic, I loved everything with Kacey. As to the Kara/Sam bits, they were spot-on, as per usual.

I especially love the idea of Kacey as Newt, too (and I am, as always, charmed by Sam with a kid, even in wildly different circumstances!)
