Yay! Good Pirates fic, and about Elizabeth, who really impressed me this last movie. Plus, it was good baby fic, sort of, and that's happy any time.

You captured the essence of her character, her determination, and her intelligence.

I didn't love Elizabeth, in the first movie. I liked what they did with her, but I found her... rather childish and annoying. Second movie? Oh, oh, there was love, especially at the end. And then this movie just made her an adult, which was awesome. And, yes, I keep using that word.

Seriously, it's a good thing you don't do this often, or I'd just be a blubbering mess all the time. This totally hit me where I live - especially the scene with Calypso. Ouch. So pretty.

I figured that Calypso would take an interest in Elizabeth. Given who she was, and who she had been. Not to mention who the father of her child was--and, really, given that Will has Hero!sperms, that baby will one day rule thw world, or something.

Ha! (girlfriend, you shoulda poked me -- this was buried at skip-40; I only saw it because I was trying to find something else! My PotC comms are rather, er, flooded at the moment)

yay, Elizabeth! and Calypso (man, I love her line about "you wouldn't love me if it weren't my nature" in the film) And babyfic, hee. (although I'm pretty sure the kid's a boy). But I'll gladly take all blame for it. :)

(I couldn't honestly tell, in the movie, and I don't think I'll change it, since, well, I like girls--also, there's a fabulous symmetry in it being a mini!Elizabeth that is singing, as mini!Elizabeth herself sang in the beginning of the first movie.)

yes this is true, about the singing bringing it full circle. And it also parallels the boy from the beginning. In fact, there's a theory that the hanging scene is sort of a "What if?" AU of an EitC victory and it's the same boy. Which, my ever-so-logical AU-constructivist brain says can't be, because the boy wouldn't have been born if the EitC had won, but it's an interesting thought.
