I've been trying to keep busy lately, it's been going pretty well. Much baking (including dinner a few times, to take some pressure off Mom), some knit (sock) and crochet (fingerless gloves), a bit of fishing, and etc.

I finally closed my TCF Bank account today. There was only about $40 left in it from my school account, and I don't have any need for it anymore. The guy seemed sort of sad when I told him I wanted to close the account, but I didn't get pressured to stay or anything. So. Yeah.

Oh, and a lot of movie watching. Some I've seen before (Tremors, for one), but I saw American History X for the first time. Quite a good movie, though neo-nazis make me squirm a little.

My uterus continues to piss me off. One of the things I was looking forward to about taking birth control was that I would know when my period was going to happen because there's a week of placebo pills for it. But no, my uterus refuses to work that way. Granted I'm only just finished with my second pack, but it's bothersome. Last month my period started a few days early, this time it's a week early. In fact, I just took the last active pill this morning and lo and behold, period finished. If it happens again next month, I'm going to ask the doctor if I can get a stronger prescription or something.

Oh, and because I'm still squeeing about it I'm going to inflict it on you all as well - last night I was at Jim's, half-watching Patton Oswalt standup and getting our snuggle on (including warming my icy toes on his warm warm feets. it's my right as a woman). He said, kind of out of the blue, "I've almost half a mind to not go back up to Wisconsin next week, so that instead you can come over and we can snuggle."

Melted my little heart, y'all. Melted.

It felt so good to hear it, that he was even half considering staying home to spend time with me instead of going on a trip (that would involve fishing!) with his folks. I told him how sweet and awesome that was to say, and I would have been tempted to talk him into staying if I wasn't also going out of town next week. But I may be inclined to suggest he come home earlier than planned (they're taking two cars, he's coming home earlier than they are to do fireworks with Pops - boyfriend hazing time!). In any case, I drove home smiling.

Tomorrow we're going to lunch and then to see Jonah Hex in Crestwood. I think I'm driving, and since I seem to have misplaced my mp3 player I burned a few CDs for the first time in, oh, three years? Hooray for a car that can play mp3 CDs.

And then! Saturday! Ashe and I are going to buy our Buffett tickets for this August, and doing a few errands and such while we're out and about. Very exciting.

And it is so past my bedtime. Yawn. G'night.
