Hooray for the weekend!

Bit hectic so far, but it's all good now.

Friday, we were supposed to present our news clip project. I got a text in the morning from our video editor, who told us that she'd completed it, but that her computer crashed and won't turn on again. She was going to get it fixed as soon as her dad got home that evening, but our class was at 1PM. Luckily, our professor accepted our tearful entreaties and gave us an extension til Monday. Oh, and the Space Cadet apparently whined that we hadn't told her we weren't presenting on Wednesday when it was originally due (though we hadn't heard a word out of her since filming the Wednesday BEFORE). So now we have to go in during office hours on Monday and deal with that.

Got back to the apartment, watched Chowder and ate lunch, then it was off to go see Clash of the Titans.

Not too terribly much to say about it - the CGI was awesome, the scenes on Mt. Olympus were really pretty (all of the gods' armor had some kind of awesome sparkle filter on it, it was gorgeous) and the floor of the space was like a satellite photo of the Earth with clouds floating around near the gods' feet.

Apparently they butchered the Perseus myth (which, when Jim was explaining the proper origin to me, I blurted 'oh! the golden shower girl!'), but overall it was enjoyable. I could see where the film was clearly anticipating a 3D release, but not in any really awful, cheap gag way. It was more in the fact that the beasties were attacking more face-on than to the side (if that makes sense).

OH AND THERE WAS AN IRON MAN TRAILER. Hell yeah!

Went back to Jim's, where we watched Pathfinder (yup, just as awful the second time) and a movie I'd never heard of called Sex Drive. I accused him of putting on porn when I saw the title, but it was actually pretty funny. Seth Green plays an Amish guy. Oh, and James Marsden was in it, but not as the romantic lead so he survived.

We played a few rounds of Go Fish and Blackjack, had a few spoonfuls of peanut butter (a man after my own heart), and decided it was bedtime.

Woke up to the sound of a ton of police sirens and ambulances, but couldn't figure out where they were going. Oh, and it was raining really hard. And I couldn't find a bus home. Stupid buses.

Showered, got my stuff together, and went to go get car keys from Shelly (who was coming downtown with Jocelyn for the day) and catch a train. Did I mention stupid buses? Add stupid trains to that, too, because the blue line was impossible and we (Jim and I, we take the same train home and figure it's more fun than sitting alone) had to SPRINT to the Metra train to catch it before it left the station. After the nausea passed, we got settled and caught our breath for the next hour as three hoochies babbled to each other about the wild time they'd had at a bar last night.

Now I'm home, and stuffed with leftover chili cheese fries (THANKS SHELL AND JOCELYN) and honey wangs from Jewel (IBID). Home a while now to relax and watch some TV, then much later tonight going out with Ashley and her cousin to see Acoustically Challenged again finally. Yay!

Tomorrow is Easter. To quote my sister, I'm excited to eat.
