I've been putting this off. I'm very good at doing that! Thanks to Jen, here are five words she associates me with and which I am supposed to associate myself with. If any of you want to do this, just comment, and I'll give you five as well!
1. strength: Having had a kidney transplant and then not being able to walk for several years has given me a new perspective on life. I have to persevere through whatever comes my way. Also, when something bad happens in the family, I am the one who tries to stay strong for everyone else.
2. diligent: Hmmm. This made me laugh. At first, I couldn't see where I would go with this since I am a major procrastinator. I finally figured something out though! When I set my mind on something, I will do whatever it takes to accomplish it even when others don't believe I will be successful.
3. dogs: What can I say? I absolutely love dogs! I've always had dogs for as far back as I can remember. Currently, I have a Miniature Pinscher named Sadie. She's a spoiled baby, and I am definitely going to miss her when I go to college. I also want a guide dog, so hopefully getting one will be a goal I finally obtain in the near future.
4. musical voice: I love singing. Actually, I am only going to college as a backup plan in case my singing doesn't go anywhere. I know that singing does not always pay the bills, especially in Southern Gospel music, so this is why I am going after degrees in rehabilitation counseling and social work. So for now, my singing is contained within my church. I am in the choir and also sing solos.
5. resilience: I try to bounce back from whatever curve balls life throws at me. The main thing I can think of here is that I still don't have a guide dog even though I have wanted one for the past five years. I thought that was going to happen two years ago, but as it turned out, my O&M skills weren't as good as they needed to be. I bounced back from having a bad instructor after a while, to start working with another guy who I thought was going to help me finish everything up, and now to switching instructors again.
