Everyone's Christmas prezzies. both given and received, were WIN! *giggles like a mad elf* And isn't it wonderful to get to buy books for partners who will happily let you read a thing when they are finished? However, there are two copies of the "Exegesis of Philip K. Dick" in the house and I kinda want my own, but, well, I'll read one of theirs first.
Oh, and I have Skyrim. So maybe you won't seem me for months, heh. I say maybe because here's the sad sad truth: I love video games, but I have never been spectacular at them. Also, the Xbox controller? *sigh* Movement with two knobs is hard, yo, cause I am old and love the days of Nintendo, which I could do... (Which is why Fallout 3 has sat in my house for so long---great story that I can't make happen because I have zero skills for the touchy (to me) controls. blah.) Practice will hopefully help. And dammit, I keep hitting all the wrong buttons for Skyrim, too. I am such a bad gamer--but oh, I loves me the games, though! On Skyrim, I shall relearn, dammit. :) Cause, dragons, yo.
Today? I want to turn my brain off and spin and read. Due to making Christmas gifts, I haven't done any spinning since November, and this year, dammit, I haz plans. My handspun yarn is really good and if I can calculate the yardage well enough, I am going to start selling on Etsy--as well as my jeweler and maybe a painting or two. At least, that's part of my plans for this year. My year of the artist, just for me. Including working my ass off to publish, dammit. Because honestly? The day job is fine but it saps my joy and I need to cultivate more discipline to get joy out of what does give me joy: art and writing. I look forward to sharing this with all of you.
Here's to the new year, and the reminder that every day is a change for something new.
