Two weeks, two days

Wow, I suppose that really isn't so long before Eric and I head out to CA. We have a lot of things we're trying to cram into these 16 days, too, which is proving to be somewhat stressful. For today, I'm tired and irritable, and in the mood to be fairly succinct. So, bad list, good list:

Bad Things:
* The Internet has been effectively out of commission in our apartment for the last week, so I keep missing messages from people, and can't run my usual rounds.
* Trying to schedule pre-move stuff and have enough time to unwind, too.
* Mom's issues, and the fact that, while I do want to see her again before I go, I don't want to deal with drama.
* I'm all sore and tired today for some reason.
* That suit jacket I was making for Eric is in fact so much smaller than Eric's size that it fits me perfectly! Okay, sure, we're close in size, but our shoulders are pretty different, and that's where it fits me - ridiculous!
* I got eaten up by mosquitoes playing tennis today and yesterday.

Good Things:
* We've got most of our paperwork out of the way for the move - so, although we still have to pack up all of our stuff, at least the paperwork is done.
* We've been hanging out with friends more than we have all summer, in the last week or two, and are going to get in a lot of social calls before we go.
* Eric and I have found a way to play tennis so that if one of us gets tired, a friend of ours can rotate in, instead of us calling off the whole game.
* I've got most of Crys's and Dylan's stuffies done, and have started Whit's, so I should easily be able to finish them before I go.
* The Internets are suddenly not sucking! *o*
* In the last couple of weeks, I've been eating better and getting more exercise, and it feels really good.
* I got to play with a really cute little kitten today.
* San Jose, CA has TONS of cool stuff, including free recycling, lots of public transportation, an open-air flea market and daily produce market, tons of yarn shops, libraries, free concerts, and lots of other stuff. There will be a library AND a yarn store within about one mile of our apartment! The yarn store has 'hang out and knit' nights, so I'll get to meet lots of new people quickly!
* Tristan & Quynh (the new roomies) are really cool, and should be fun to hang out with - plus they have two kitties, and a relatively well-behaved puppy.

So really, the good far outweighs the bad. :-D A little sleep will probably help with my outlook on things too, I'd wager. ;-D

About hanging out: when are you guys free? This upcoming weekend is pretty tight for me, but otherwise I'd love to hang out - I'll even succumb to swimming. ;-D

And also: Crys, on the 12th and 13th, there will be a Battle of the Badges blood drive - would you want to/be able to donate with me?

Lastly: How is this moving G&G going to work? I was planning to have lunch with somebody here, so I'd prefer hopping a ride with someone who'd be going down there later in the day. But if that's not going to happen, I can always reschedule the lunch. We're also having a friend stay with us this upcoming weekend, so it'd be good to get back sometime during the evening.
