So, what would Lyssa do if...:

Q1: She went to work at a pre-arranged time (arranged with her boss), after turning in her schedule the day before so she could be given her work schedule, and found out that her job had become obsolete?

A1: She would get a job application for another job on campus within 20 minutes of leaving work, buy a newspaper, and find another job to apply for in town within the hour.

So, yeah. I'm pretty frustrated with the Office of International Education at the moment. I realize that oversights happen, but my co-workers have been doing BANNER training all last semester - and the reason my job doesn't exist anymore is because BANNER went online. Do you see the conundrum? It's like someone ought to have mentioned something, with all of those meetings...or mentioned it when I came in yesterday with my schedule? At least I shouldn't have to deal with extra work activities now (that we're expected to help with, even if we have prior engagements), and excessive politics...

This does mean, though, that I need to find and update my resume, and try to get an interview set up. *sigh*

Q2: She found out she had a bladder infection?

A2: She'd take antibiotics that she got at the Student Health Center.

Q3: Her wisdom tooth was trying to come in, and causing her pain?

A3: She'd find out about free dental services offered two days in February up in Topeka, and find out about student insurance.

Okay, I'm sorry, these are quite lame. The main thing being, I guess, that my 15 hr/wk job vanished, and health care is suddenly a concern. On the good side, today is Eric's birthday, and I made him pancakes, and tonight his buddy Adam is taking him/us (maybe) out to a b-day dinner.

Oh, and I ran into some bad news with regards to selling those comics: the comic shop where my buddy Ted works seems to be obsolete, and is nowhere to be found on Commercial St. So if we did sell them, we'd have to find another way to do it.

Mom's planning to go to Hutch this weekend perhaps, because Tim and Ben will be there, but this would involve her (and Dylan, if he goes/they go) staying the night at Aunt Evelyn's house, and basically spending the majority of 2 days out there. If this is the case, it will cause difficulties for those of us who need to have her fill out financial information. Plus it'll probably end up being a roast of Mom, or her spreading her viciously untrue story to anyone who'll listen, and I'm not about to put up with 6 hours of driving and 2 days of visiting, just for that.

Ooh, I found out a few days ago that my friend Takako is 7 months pregnant, and engaged! *o* I want to find out what sex the baby is, and knit him/her a hat! Granted, Kale's hat still has a few finishing touches to be made...Eric's is done, though, and the sweater started.

Time for me to go clean up my resume, and get ready to turn it in, and ask for an interview. *crosses fingers* Wish me luck!

Love, Lyssa
