I'm in Brookline, it's snowing.
I haven't been in the US long enough to get a Social Security number (it takes 10 days).
But it's been long enough to get a bank account, an apartment, some furniture. It's been busy: fun and tiring. That's what my uncle said, and he really knows about this stuff - he used to move around loads to places like Iran and Sri Lanka in the days before internet - what we're doing is nothing beside those adventures I'm sure.
Does still feel like a big adventure though. As Luke put it, and I think he's right (if a little 'poetic'): 'These are the days we reminisce over in later life. These are the days we will drink to.'.
