I could have DIED!

I haaaaaaaaaave a story to tellllllllllllll~

So I walked in to work today (barely on time, and wearing jeans instead of nice khakis, and using an apron that's just there, because I didn't have time to stop back home after the movie we went to see (wallace and gromit). Anyway, they were all talking about a customer who'd bought some patio furniture and was to come back later tonight to pick it up. They'd found out she wrote a bad check, after she left, so they were all talkin to the police and so on, seeing what could be done about this all. The police wouldn't arrest the lady because her check hadn't had time to go through, even though we'd called the bank and found out that there was no money in that checking account. This lady also had a warrant out for her arrest in Detroit, but since that was too far away to send her if the GR police arrested her here, they wouldn't do it (...). Our manager Sue was scheduled only till 5, at which time another guy would be in charge (yeah he's a guy, but seriously Sue is by far the preferable of the two in this situation), but she decided to stay the night in case stuff happened (we all figured something would happen tonight, in any case). Soooooooooooo most of the night was just normal enough, Lys all alone at checkout, slow business and few customers, but that was constantly in the back of my mind, and I really really wished nothing would happen and I could just have a nice peaceful night...
So it got to like 7:30 and Sue figured they'd probably come around 8:30, not long before we closed at 9. So she left to do grocery shopping she needed to get done. Not at all long after, a guy came in saying he needed to pick up some furniture, some chairs. I'm all "This has to be that." So I told Andy the manager who SO FORTUNATELY happened to be right there, that this guy was here for the furniture. So he went up to the office and called good ol' Sue, and someone got his license number while he was inside, and he was walkin around talking on his cell phone, and stuff... and Sue rushed back here right away (leaving the food she'd put in her cart and running out the entrance/do not exit doors) and talked to the guy, and then she took his picture with a disposable camera bought just for this purpose while telling him he'd written a bad check, and then he got mad, and then he tried to take the camera back from her, and then she took it back, and then Kathy called 911 because she was scared for Sue's safety, and the guy left, honking his horn, and I was like "ahhhhhh........"

So now I'm still unnerved about this all, and scared to work alone and scared to work at night and scared of the world. I DON'T LIKE THAT. I want a happy safe world I can be comfortable with. Sigh... I realize that to some of you perhaps, this doesn't even seem like a big deal. But it freaked me out pretty well.

I came home and ate tacos and low-sugar-low-fat (.....) ice cream, and it was ...good, considering..
Right now I'm chilly. I got a new SPITZ album. *beams*

work, music, spitz, scariness, movies, ice cream, food
