rambly bits
daily lys has been updated! All of May and October (so far-including today!) are up, and I'm in the process of working my way back and forward through June and September. I also made posts for all the days I already had colour versions of, so every month is partially represented. I think I'm adding a couple fewer every day... but any progress is good, right? Comments or suggestions are very welcome!
So, I'm pretty proud of my work on the patterns-for example:
When I looked at the June 6 sketch yesterday, my brain shut down and I tried to block it out by working on some other (slightly simpler) outfits. But I tackled it first thing this morning, getting the original shirt out for reference, and it wasn't so bad after all. Still, I'm wondering if my outfit yesterday was subconsciously motivated by a desire to colour something simple. (I'm not sure where the Christmas colours came from either. A subconscious desire for yummy holiday foods?)
(by the way, that cat is our new cat, aka our old neighbours' cat, Finny!! Yesterday he decided to be quite lovable and sit right on my feet as I was drawing, and today when I let him in the house for a bit he went upstairs to my room and curled up on my rug to nap for an hour or two. Adorable beast. Later I fed him some sweet potato and he loved it♥ (however, he's definitely got fleas, so I'm going to have to do something about that if he wants to start coming inside more often.))
And now I am cat-sitting at my aunt and uncle's place for the weekend. They have two white cats, although one is rarely seen by strangers. Man, I'm hanging out with all kinds of cats lately.
