Father of the Year contender Mark Ciptak of Elizabethton, TN had agreed with his wife that their baby daughter would be named Ava Grace. When presented with the blank birth certificate while his wife recovered from labor and delivery, he decided to take the initiative to change the girl's name. His choice? Sarah McCain Palin.
Yes, I think it'd be rather silly of someone to name their son Barack Biden Obama or Joseph Obama Biden. But to be honest, naming a kid for two intelligent, reasonable men strikes me as far healthier in the long run. The bigger crime is the father's doing it and only telling his wife afterward. I don't normally advocate spousal abuse, but when you're confronted with a case of stupid this big, handing them their sign isn't enough. You have to whack them over the head with it a few times first.
