The weekly dose of badassery.
So, as most of you already know, Paget is finally leaving Criminal Minds. While I am certainly bummed--my favourite TV character ever, EVER--I completely understand her decision. CBS treated her (and A.J., and Rachel Nichols) like shit, and I hope she'll go on to do a job in which the people in charge actually appreciate her. Paget, go back to comedy; "Coffee should be drinking me!"
Speaking of Criminal Minds, it was another mediocre episode this week, but it was all worth it for JJ's butchiness alone. Although the show has lost the spark it once had, I will, in all likelihood, keep on watching anyway, because this new JJ is the best thing that's happened to our favourite crime drama in years.
The episode can be summed up in the following six statements:
1. Hotch has a girlfriend. A hot girlfriend.
And it's all pretty cringe-worthy and corny.
Awkward, but oddly adorable.
2. JJ is channeling the butch.
AND I CANNOT DEAL.
EMILY WHO OMG.
3. Emily is still wearing hideous turtlenecks.
Meh. Meh!
4. JJ = superior.
The gym guy is all, 'Hello there, gorgeous', and JJ's like, 'Dude, I'm a frigging FBI Agent and so out of your league'.
Dude, not in a million years is that going to happen. Then again, Will, in some inexplicable way, managed to lure his way in.
5. Obvious facial expressions are obvious.
I mean seriously.
Guy: [My girlfriend] slept with someone else. It was just a one time thing. I couldn't get past it.
JJ: [somberly] Not many people can.
She's totally thinking about the Emily/herself/Will triangle. "Not many people can" = Emily did.
6. JJ, you're so badass, I LOVE IT.
She's literally kicking ass this season.
I AM SO IN LOVE.
Nowadays, JJ is doing everything Emily used to do - and I don't think I mind!
Next week: Creepy home invasions.
So, it seems like the 7th season will remain the last one of the Criminal Minds seasons I recap. Although I'll probably keep on watching for JJ, the show hasn't really wowed me in a while, and once Emily's gone, I don't see the point of doing these. Also, LJ is pretty much dying as fandom moves to tumblr (my posting has been sporadic at best), so that makes this decision a whole lot easier as well. But yes, I'm a perfectionist, so the remaining Season 7 episodes will be recapped.
