Welcome back to Profiling 101.

THE DAY HAS COME.

It's still hard to believe that my show is back to the way it used to be (and that I'm recapping it again). And, if possible, it's seems to be even better this time around - at least if the season premier is anything to go by. In other words, EMILY PRENTISS PWNS EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING (and gays things up in the process).

We kick of with a disciplinary hearing (because the team's been bad, hunting Ian Doyle without letting anyone else know), in which JJ is a total HBIC.

She's looking mighty fine.

The first 'OMFG, this is really happening!' moment arrives with the credits. They're all new and shiny and pretty~

Paget in the credits! No fringe! Perfection all around!

Indeed, Morgan and Garcia have been investigating Emily's 'death', trying to first find Ian Doyle's son & then the big baddie himself. JJ is rudely left out of their shenanigans (poor thing); Morgan's "This has been a long shot for six months. Why get her hopes up?" is pretty hilarious, though. JJ knows Morgan! They've had super!sikrit rendezvouses in Paris this whole time! Didn't you get the memo?

Side note: JJ looks so ridiculously HOT.

The year at the State Department obviously did her good.

Right. So, Morgan and Garcia track down Ian Doyle, Hotch is in Pakistan for some reason (I was too busy flailing over JJ's hotness at this point, so I missed it), Doyle's son is kidnapped, and the BAU arrests Doyle. All very neat and orderly.

Things get complicated when they find out that Doyle doesn't actually have the boy, someone else is mixed up in the kidnapping (as she profiles Doyle, the fact that JJ is now a profiler is a bit too forcefully handled, though). Hmm... What could they do to solve this case?

WELL, BRING BACK EMILY MOTHERFUCKING PRENTISS OF COURSE.

Aaaaaah! I'm so happy I could weep.

Although Emily greets them all, for some reason, I really like her interaction with Morgan the most.

These two were/are such BFFs, partners, and Morgan actually had to watch Emily die. It's really heartbreakingly beautiful to see, actually.

But then. THEN. Behold, the Emily/JJ show. Let's start with eyeshagging, at which these two used to be so good at.

Yep. They've still got it. Just ignore the weird white sheet Emily has on.

Right, things get a whole lot better as they step into the hallway (this whole scene is pretty meta, too, but that's beside the point femslash).

Emily: So you're actually back?
JJ: They'd been looking for your replacement, and Rossi called me.
Emily: That's great.

I LOVE the way they're both smiling at each other. But wait, that was nothing! Wait till you hear the following:

Emily: How's Will with the long hours again?
JJ: [slightly awkward] Long story.

GOD. So. much. to process.

First of all, "How's Will with the long hours again"??? Translation: "Are you still pretending with that prick, because now that we understand how precious life is, you should finally confront those totes gay feelings you still have for me."

Secondly, JJ's reply. HELL YES. I've been waiting for this moment since "In Heat", and they'd better officially break up in the upcoming episode featuring said beard (I'm actually saying this as a fan, not as a femslasher).

Oh, and don't think we don't see that slightly smug look you're sporting, Emily.

Emily: [turning to JJ] Thank you.
JJ: [practically beaming] It is really good to see you.

Oh, sweet Jesus. Get a room! And could JJ possibly look more adoringly at Emily?

Aaaand, the goodness continues, turning me into a ball of mush in the process.

I think these two just broke my brain.

Knowing that both JJ & Emily would be back, I was really hoping for at least something femslashy. But this? GET OUTTA HERE.

I have no idea where to continue. Let's take a break and look at some Emily hotness while I try to piece my thoughts back together.

Mmmmmm, nice.

Right, let's see. We find out that, oh noes, it's Declan's mum who has him! Apparently, she's both Irish and Australian, or her accent just a changes from scene to scene. But who cares.

There's a big shoot out at the airport, and, conveniently, all the bad guys shoot each other. Um, LOL. It's pretty moving, though, when Declan "connects" with his father just before he dies.

Case closed, but the team is still being questioned for their actions. Finally, all but Emily are dismissed from the room, and we get yet another glimpse at Emily/JJ.

No one else even looks at Emily. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. But wait, Emily, what the hell are you wearing? Who threw up on you? It's like she tried to femme up for the hearing, but failed miserably.

Anyway. Later on, Emily's studying her own photo among the 'fallen heroes'.

Rossi: [looking at the photo] I never thought we'd be taking one of these down.
[Rossi takes a hold of the frame]
Emily: I already tried, it's screwed in.
Rossi: You're kidding me.

Hee! Garcia turns up with a screw driver, and we also find out that she's had Sergio this whole time. Awwww.

Next, Strauss turns up and she wants to have a word with them. Apparently, Emily managed to convince the board that the team is not a rogue one (omg, the corniest speech EVER), and now they're fully operational again. JJ's adoring look at Emily is priceless.

But Strauss is not done just yet.

Strauss: There may be more paperwork considering your...situation, but the team is lucky to have you. If you're interested.
Emily: May I think about it?
Stauss: Of course.
Emily: [serious] I'm in. [smiles]

Emily, you rule.

The team's back together, I can't quite believe it. A fantastic season opener (a totally biased opinion, because EMILY MOTHERFUCKING PRENTISS IS BACK).

Next week: It's back to business as usual. Something about an unsub that does something with acid. Or something. I don't know.

Damn, this show. ♥

So yeah, as much as the ending of summer holidays saddens me, it still means that all my shows are finally back from the break. And speaking of wonderful returns, OMG, CASTLE, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. ♥ Flawless comeback, they didn't take the easy way out with the shooting, and plus, I totally knew right away that Beckett was lying. Castle & Beckett, y so perfect?

Also, La Oreja de van Gogh's new album was released this week and it. is. amazing. Absolutely flawless, I'm so in love with it. <3
