...y vivieron felices para siempre.

This TV season is rapidly turning into a very sad one, with all my favourite shows going down the drain and my favourite characters leaving. Last week it was Hospital Central's turn as, after six years, one of the most important television storylines to me personally came to a close ( Read more... )

My condolences on your loss. I didn't know Maca & Esther, but I know they were dear to you. I know they'll live in your memory. How many times did the short one end up in a hospital bed?

Many, many times. Let's see, there was the helicopter crash, then the ceiling fell on her, next her crazy ex wanted to kill her... Spanish semi-soaps are awesome.

And let's not forget the few times that Maca managed to find herself in a hostage situation. Twice that I remember - once at the jewellery store and once in the hospital.

Oh, and that's not including the pregnancy/delivery scenes for them both.

One other storyline I loved over the show was Maca's friendship with Claudia (Elia Galera). They had some lovely chemistry together and I actually wouldn't have minded if they skipped Vero and had Maca/Claudia. But I also really liked Claudia & Gimeno. Maca/Cruz would have been fun, too. Gimeno was a riot - always managed to make me laugh, along with Claudia's facial expressions when she dealt with his odd sense of humour.

I had to laugh in the last ep of season 19, when Vilches turns to his son - after Maca, Esther, Cruz, Rusti, Aime, and Teresa showed up and asked him if he called everyone who used to work at the Central.

How anyone still works at that hospital is beyond me!

I absolutely adored the Maca/Claudia chemistry and friendship. And, you know, Elia Galera played gay in another show, so she probably wouldn't have minded a little Maca/Claudia action... One of my favourite scenes were when Claudia was negotiating with Carlos about the terms of their future child. The way she confirmed all the decisions with Maca was adorable.

en serio? Adonde? Elia Galera es muy guapa.

Yes, that bit with Claudia checking back with Maca about the negotiations was fabulous. :)

Love that Vero icon. Mind you, in that trio, I actually like that they made Maca the bad one out of the three. She knew what she was doing and did it anyway. Vero just got caught in Maca's orbit, and actually started to feel bad for her.

Sí, sí! En serio. Fue una serie que se llamaba El Pasado es Mañana (muy imaginativo...)

Ha! That Vero icon was completely accidental, I meant to use this one. *points to icon* But yeah, Vero was not the baddie of the story, and I love that they wrote it that way!

[edit] Wrong video.

I looked up clips of that last night and I remembered seeing that show before (or at least those clips), but I hadn't thought of linking Elia with that series until now....

It's got in my head a little AU fic idea with Claudia & Maca. :D
