Who was it again that thought "Arquelogía de Mesoamerica" (Archeology of Mesoamerica; sheesh, no kidding!) would be a brilliant course to take this semester? Hmmm? Xicalcoliuhquí, Tlahuizcaliantecuhtl, Ixtlilxóchltl... Just a few of the terms I'm supposed to learn for the exam which is in a frigging week. I IZ DED.
Fortunately, fandom keeps me afloat. A huge thank you to my twin, kayryn, for bringing the following to my attention, because I just about spontaneously combusted on the spot when I saw it.

Speaking of fandom, I owe onlyjustwhisper a picspam. The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister picspam, to be precise. The BBC adaptation of the diaries is an interesting experience, because I'm still not quite sure how I truly feel about it. It's not Tipping the Velvet or Fingersmtih - the difference between fiction and real life, I suppose. In any case, the film is definitely worth checking out. Trust me. Or, rather, trust the picspam.
The Main Four Reasons Why the Film Is Worth It
I Maxine Peake
Maxine Peake does such a fabulous job; she's utterly believable as Anne Lister. The strength and intelligence of Anne, her shallowness and also the rather snobbish side of her are all there, perfectly interpreted by Peake.
II The Setting
The 19th century Yorkshire as the backdrop for the film is so much love. I totally get the appeal of the Regency England; the clothes, the gadgets, the society... Yes, it's such a romanticised picture of the era, but I don't care.
III The Nekkidness
I have never denied being shallow. Because I am. Extremely shallow, that is. And there is some serious nekkidness and sexeh!times in this film. Just saying.
IV The Chemistry
Although I was somewhat annoyed by both of their conducts every now and again, the relationship between Anne and Mariana is realistic and believable. And there is chemistry between the two, without a doubt, which makes the sexy!times even better. No, I am in no way trying to sway you by mentioning that THERE IS HOT LESBIAN SEX BETWEEN THESE CHARACTERS. No, not at all.
