A slight change of plans, meaning that yours truly is already back in Lampeter (this place is so small it's ridiculous). But ahh! It's still Girls Aloud time tomorrow; the first gig of the entire tour, bitches! *does a victory dance*
Anyway, the good thing about my early arrival at Wales is that I get to squee and rave and fangirl over the newest Criminal Minds episode right away. This would be an episode where Emily was, once again, awesome. As in 'proving her superiority while gaying it up' awesome. Yes, the touching is back, people!
- Tough case. The complexity of the plot actually surprised me a little, which is always a positive thing. There weren't even any jokes in the episode this time.
- The little sociopath? Yikes. Creepy with a capital 'C'.
- I love the team episodes such as this one. Yes, I keep saying it over and over again: the ensemble of this show is fantastic, one of the best ones on TV at the moment.
Anyway, this picspam is all about Emily (OMG, really??), because she was fantabulous. Let me count the ways that I love you:
1. The perfect mix of agent!Emily & sympathiser!Emily. And a hideous briefcase.
[edit] I fail at vocabulary. *facepalm*
The way Emily handles the family is brilliant. Remarkably, she can be both professionally strict and compassionately involved at the same time.
Nothing new there, though. She's always been terrific with the victims. But what's up with the weirdo briefcase? Wonderfully random.
2. The obligatory eyeshag.
It happens everytime. Emily walks confidently into the room, JJ glances up and their eyes meet. After which, Emily positions herself right behind the blonde. Subtle, but not subtle enough.
And there's the hand thing again! Must be an involuntary nervous tick for Paget, because it's happening all. the. time.
3. Compartmentalisation: operate.
They've really tested Emily's signature compartmentalisation skills this season, haven't they? Again, she's clearly struggling when the little boy is found in the woods, but, in the end, the mask stays in tact.
Brilliantly acted, Paget.
4. You did not just try to bullshit Emily, did you?
She sees everything! And looks deliciously fierce while at it.
Nothing gets past this woman. This scene actually reminds me a bit of that amazing interrogation scene in "Seven Seconds" - this one is not as in-your-face a scene, but the underlying 'Emily doesn't buy your bullshit' current is definitely there.
5. Femslash 101: Unnecessary touching.
Yes, Emily is totally trying to get JJ back. Cue to: completely unnecessary touching á la Season 3. That noise you just heard? That was me squeeing like a rabid fangirl (which I totally am).
And it's not even a quick touch. No, it's a full 'I'm placing my hand on your arm during this conversation just because' touch. A small detail, but oh, the direction where their interaction is heading is more than obvious.
6. The usual patch of eye candy. Yum.
I love it how the characters on this show actually use the same clothes every now and then. The white shirt Emily's sporting under her jacket has made an appearance several times before as well.
Next week: Something completely different if
this promo is anything to go by.
There are also
interesting spoilers going around regarding the last two episodes of the season. One particular sentence in the press release makes me feel rather nervous, but I suppose I'm just paranoid. But yes, I'm guessing the end of the season will be good! [edit]
Promo pics for the finale. Emily, you gorgeous thing you.
Lie to Me was rather uneventful this week, although it was nice to see Jennifer Beals sporting a nice power suit (again). Also, I was reminded why I love Kelli Williams so much: sometimes she delivers lines in a way that no one else could:
Gillian: I'm gonna go and help Torres to get started on the Southeast drive-by shooting. You know, who better than me to get inside the world of gansta rappers. [does a gansta sign]
I cracked up. Completely.
Anyway. Girls Aloud tomorrow! The "spoilers" I've heard so far about the tour have been really exciting; the cover they're going to do this time? It'll be epic, you guys. I mean, how fantastic was "Push It" last year?

I'm telling you, EPIC. ♥
