And my head just about exploded.

Feb 05, 2008 22:02

So, I was watching an episode of Andy Richter Controls the Universe, chuckling at Paget Brewster's impeccable comic timing, when suddenly I spat the cappuchino I was drinking all over my screen.

Why?

THE MOST FANTASTIC & AMUSING FANDOM COLLISION EVER.

Dude, I watched that same episode today, and at first I didn't even realise it was her because I haven't watched the older CM episodes yet, but then I looked her up because she DID look familiar, and whoa!

I'm so loving Paget in this, she's fantastic. The timing you mentioned, the facial expressions, the way she delivers her lines (and she does get some awesome lines) - it's perfect. Sadly, I only have four episodes left.

Jessica makes me laugh hysterically; Paget is so fantastic. ♥ I think my absolute favourite moment so far (and I think it'll be awfully difficult to top) has been the sexual harrassment complaint. "Maybe Jessica filed it herself."

That was a brilliant scene. Too damn funny. I was also really fond of the episode in which she was all hyper from partying and then falling asleep during meetings. That cracked me up.

The party episode has probably been the best episode so far; the whole meeting scene with the final "Well, if no one's gonna show, I don't know why I'm still hanging around." line was brilliant. *g*

Paget looks adorable in that red shirt. I have nothing against Elle but looking at them side by side, I am so happy she left and Emily joined the team. But still, this does mean there needs to be a story where Elle and Emily were domestic partners in a previous life *g*.

And those music videos were gorgeous. The second video's creator often submits to the site, so there might be a downloadable version in the future.

It's the familiar Emily strut in the fourth pic as well. That made the whole thing even freakier.

OMG, I couldn't agree more! I didn't dare say it, but I'm so happy we have Emily now. Putting the two in this obvious juxtaposition, it's not difficult at all to pick my favourite.

Andy Richter is GOD! Paget's timing is amazing. To be quite honest, one of the reason I tried to avoid Criminal Minds for the past few seasons was I couldn't watch two minutes of it without expecting something Andy Richter to happen. I was expecting her to say something like, "You know, maybe I don't need to be in a relationship. Lots of things don't have relationships. Trees, shrimp, ketchup, wallpaper."

You probably know this, but it always makes me laugh when she shows up for two seconds in Eulogy .... baking a cake.

I totally get that. In my case I first really saw Paget in Huff, so for me it's slightly odd to see her do such comical roles. And Criminal Minds has only emphasised that.

But I do love her in the Jessica type of roles: "Did you know that when skeet shooting was first invented, they used to just throw rocks in the air? Do you know what they shot them with? Other rocks! [long pause] Pick me up at eight."

I love her in Eulogy! *g* She looks so mortified about the twins' antics that I just want to give her a hug. And I always think "Good for you!" when it comes up that she walked out on them.

"You know, maybe I don't need to be in a relationship. Lots of things don't have relationships. Trees, shrimp, ketchup, wallpaper."

Based on that quote alone, I'm clearly going to have to watch this show.

The second one made quite an impression on me as well. Oh, and you really need to catch up with the show once you have time. Definitely worth it. *g*
