I haven't watched SPN in, like, ages, but hearing about them passing on Wayward Sisters was both unsurprising yet disappointing. Even I, someone who has no interest in SPN anymore, would probably have checked it out just to see how they do things and where their stories went, because at least this spin-off concept made sense as opposed to their first idea of a spin-off some years ago. These are already established characters that everyone seems to really love in some way or another, so even if they probably didn't intend to make it seem this way, it does feel like they're slighting against the notion that women can hold their own and be enough to have their own show that's based off an already all-male one. IDK.

It was definitely a much better idea than the first spin-off one. I have to agree that it does feel like the network thinks an all-female cast won’t work.
