----------------------------------
songs i had to hear because of a co-workers radio
----------------------------------
1. careless whispers- george michael (did you know his greatest hits album is actually 2 discs. how???)
2. turn the beat around- vickie sue robinson
3. candle in the wind- elton john (bad elton john in my opinion, but of course i have the single from when princess diana died. i was obsessed with her death. i'm such a strange person. i latch on to the weirdest things. one day i should map it all out.)
4. good riddance- greenday (in the context of light rock of course this is terrible. and it reminds me of high school and my increasing desire to NOT go to any high school reunions)
5. behind these hazel eyes- kelly clarkston (pop pop music)
6. faithfully- journey (this is not serious music, but owen and slagor are my journey boys)
7. like we never loved at all- faith hill (pop pop country)
8. time- hootie and the blowfish (h.a.t.b., a staple to any mid-morning crap radio station)
9. all-star- smashmouth (not kidding) (this reminds me of amber's basketball games at canisius)
10. december, 1963- the four seasons (bad wedding dj)
11. if i could turn back time- cher (bad)
12. amazed- lonestar (let this song die)
13. this love- maroon 5 (reminds me of john leberman, and thus makes me dislike the music and song even more. this is a terrible, talentless band, and they grate on my nerves. sorry.)
14. unchained melody- (unfortunately) sung by my coworker over the radio
15. last dance- donna summer (karaoke bar?)
16. turn the beat around- vickie sue robinson (yes, this was played twice in 20 songs) coworker did the chorus
17. god bless the USA- leo greenwood (terrible patriotism, not that there's really such a thing as good patriotism in my book, i guess)
18. breakaway- kelly clarkston (more pop pop music)
19. how will i know- whitney "cocaine" houston
20. bless the broken road- crappy mccrap pants
--------------------------------------
20+ songs from my on-the-go playlist
--------------------------------------
1. summertime- the sundays (reminds me of interning at the albright knox...i didn't like the person who introduced me to the sundays but i loved the experience of working there)
2. fox on the run- sweet (killer song)
3. i don't wanna play house- tammy wynette (i got teary-eyed, so i had to quit listening to it)
4. dropdown, leo, and errinerung- torsten jeratsch? i got these tracks from greg vanker in high school and my whole family loves them and has them on all of our ipods, only i can never find any album information about torsten jeratsch, and i welcome any help in finding the artist and albums of these unbelievable fingerpicked acoustic guitar instrumental songs.
5. hold the line- toto (mike slagor and i used to prank call each other with this bad boy. good memories.)
6. africa- toto (reminds me of maggie and i in rite aid trying to find the right canker sore medicine on her 20th birthday)
7. what do you want from life- the tubes (wow. what a great song. i'm going to request it from every radio station. eh, maggie? "what do you want from life? an indian guru to show you the inner life?". deep. life rhyming with life. or how about this line: "how do you know that you're really in love? do violins play when you're touching the one that you're lovin?" [cue violins]). i always think of butterfly by crazytown after that song ends. kill me, right?
8. elenore- the turtles (aww, great oldies)
9. it ain't me babe- the turtles (covered in "walk the line" by johnny and june/ river and reese)
10. i know what boys like- the waitresses (boys like, boys like me) (good soundtrack song for me to keep in mind for when i get my dreamjob of professional soundtrack song picker outter)
11. say it ain't so- weezer (what a weird life: i played this song on repeat practically the whole summer i was an orientation leader, especially the first session, and i even made say it ain't so glitter puffy paint teeshirts for myself. in that first session, although i didn't, i met todd, my now boyfriend of two years and a huge weezer fan. say it ain't so. awesome.)
12. the promise- when in rome (this would be the song deb and napolean play tetherball to at the end of the movie...[cue credits] )
13. dancer in the dark- bruce springsteen (this is one of four bruce springsteen songs i will even listen to. this song + "one step up" + "able raised a cain" + "badlands" are the only songs i can stand.)
14. lovers in a dangerous time- bruce cockburn (b.n.l., stop covering already good songs)
15. thick as a brick- jethro tull
16. one- mary j. blige's cover of a U2 song. this song makes me straight up cry when she gets into the third verse. it's amazing. listen to it. go to yahoo music and watch her perform on a video. stunning.
17. arc of the diver- steve winwood
18. feelin' alright- steve winwood (this is the kind of song my dad rocked out to i bet. and it's the kind of song that maggie and i would need on a roadtrip...i'm obviously thinking of you a lot, cupcake)
19. sascha- jolie holland (please listen to this artist if you like nellie mckay and regina spektor and the likes...regina and amber, this means you)
20. artificial flowers- bobby darin (my favorite bobby darin song i think, although i really love "if i were a carpenter" too, and his version of "don't rain on my parade")

that's all, folks.
