Oh. My. God.
You know those shows that you remember fondly from childhood, and you go back and watch them again and say "god, this is still awesome!"?
Beauty and the Beast (circa 1987 and starring super-wooden Linda Hamilton) is not one of those shows. Jesus, I remember adoring this thing. Must have been the prepubescent hormones. Y'all, she's a high-powered attorney with insecurity issues who falls in love with a tunnel-dweller in a lion mask who saves her after she's mistakenly attacked by thugs. Their love is pure and endless, and yet, woe, for they cannot be together! He must long for her from afar, and appear whenever someone's about to kick her ass!
He's empathic, highly-literate and totally devoted to her. I apparently tuned in to emo-porn earlier than I thought. This is the ultimate sensitive 80s man.
Now I'm just deciding whether watching the rest of the disk is worth risking apoplexy via gigglefit.
