Well, stella_muse pointed out that I hadn't updated in a long, long while, so... well, there's a snow day tomorrow, so here we are. (I don't know why you're complaining, Sam-- you talk to me every day. You know what's going on in my life.)

But! Going in something-like-chronological order-- Christmas was spectacular, really. Got all the vidjya games I could ever need (Geetar Hero! New Blood!), many many comic books, several of my CDs (Once More with Feeling, oh my god. And Spamalot for the win!), and Buffy, Seasons 3-5 on DVD, which was absolutely awesome because, you know, on the Buffy kick and all. And the family was lovely, as always, with Crazy Uncle Steve and the Maraudercousins and everyone playing Raving Rabbids together-- the only issue was my uncle and aunt having a bit of a shouting match riiiight at the end of the night BUT OTHERWISE GREAT XD

Post-Christmas was sort of a flurry of sleepovery-ness-- spinners_grove and I watched Buffy (that chain of amazing episodes riiight in the middle of Season 2), stayed up until well past three editing the Havemercy TVTropes page, went to the Science Museum, and ate delicious pizza. New Year's with Kristen was a haze of endless video games, and then... three of us stayed up at Grove's until five playing Trace Memory and/or Trauma Center, for no reason whatsoever.

And since January is not over yet...

What fandoms did you acquire in 2008? Hoo boy. Um, that would be... Apollo Justice, Professor Layton, Haruhi Suzumiya, Ouran, Dominic Deegan, Havemercy, probably a ton that I'm forgetting... and of course, the Joss Whedon Trifecta: Dr. Horrible, Firefly, and Buffy (probably my three favorites of the year).

What fandoms did you let go of in 2008? Oh gosh. D: I'm really not all that much of a fandom-letting-go type of person (some of this is likely based in the fact that I am a huge sentimental dork), so while I may have grown apart from, say, Furuba or Pirates, I know I'm never going to let go of anything.

What fandoms did you intend on checking out in 2008 but didn't? ...It is really hard to remember back to the beginning of the year now. Um, Portal, I'm pretty sure (but I have that now!) and... various anime.

What fandoms do you intend to check out in 2009? Definitely some more normal-ish things-- Chuck and House for certain, and I'm looking to get more into Psych (we got Season 1 for Christmas~) Also, I am srsly for srs going to check out more anime. SRSLY.

What fandoms do you think you might let go of in 2009 if things don't improve? Like I said: Me. Sap. None of them.

What fandoms do you think you'll never get rid of no matter how crappy they get? Again, all of them, but Teen Titans, Harry Potter, and Phoenix Wright spring particularly to mind.

What show impressed you most in 2008? Hm. Um, can I say Firefly even if it's not a 2008 show? <3

What show impressed you least in 2008? I can't really think of any-- I tend not to watch things if they don't hold interest for me.

First Fandom of 2008: ...That would be... Apollo Justice, I think? Yeah, that sounds right.

Favorite Main Character of 2008: BILLY. ;____;

Favorite Villain of 2008: Also Billy Um. Asakura, Spike, or... maybe Celesto, this one's tougher.

Favorite Video Game Character of 2008: Also tough. :|a Olga, maybe, or Layton, or ARGH TOO MANY OPTIONS

Favorite Game of 2008: Prolly Apollo Justice, though I did have a lot of games I loved. Guitar Hero's probably a close second.

Favorite Het Couple of 2008: Maybe it's the Joss-phase, but Willow/Oz and Wash/Zoe are seriously about tied right now. (And my god, I'm only just realizing what a sucker for fluff I am.) Also, Franziska/Daryan OTP

Favorite Femmeslash Couple of 2008: I'mma go with the old standby and say Franziska/Adrian, because I know it wasn't a 2008 game but the RP kind of convinced me that it had serious potential. ...You know. Past the potential I already thought it had.

Favorite Slash Couple of 2008: Hal/Royston, naturally.

Favorite OT3 of 2008: ...You know, I've never actually had an OT3 before, but Spike/Drusilla/Angel. Is. Freaking. HOT.

Fandom That You Never Expected To Get Into: Buffy, as a matter of fact; my mom brought it up and I was all, "okay, yay, snarky girl beats up campy monsters," but I honestly never expected to be pulled into it so thoroughly. I BLAME JOSS WHEDON >( (It absolutely has nothing to do with adorable guitarists, oh no)

Fandom That Made An Unexpected Comeback: Shoebox Era!Harry Potter, I suppose, though that's always been kind of a come-and-go thing.

Fandom That Inspired The Most Crack: Does it count if I say "crossovers between fandoms"? Because that's totally what happens, especially with my sister-- it's all EVERYONE GOES TO JURASSIC PARK. AND SIRIUS HITS ON TSURUYA. AND THEN THEY HAVE A CHRISTMAS PARTY. AND OZ CHILLS WITH JASON. AND THEN THEY PLAY ROCK BAND.

Last fandom of 2008: Buffy! <3

And school-- well, semester over, whoohoos all around~ I'm going to miss Ms. Mannheim and Graphic Design, but I think midterms went as well as they could possibly go. Really, history was the only thing I had any concerns about and I felt fairly confident taking it, so we'll see how that goes.

Aaaaand that's majorly it. OH WAIT NO IT'S NOT: gyakusai_rp has started up again~ And, yeah, I was sitting there with my re-app being a general worrywart and wondering why I keep staying up until midnight with this RP when I have important things to be doing... but then I logged into chat and I remembered why. GOD I AM SUCH A HUGE FREAKING SAP but <3 you guys, srsly.

That's it, then. Later~

gsrp, grace, whedonverse, christmas, stories of my life, school, memeage
