In theory, I have a job most people in my field would kill for. I've met fantastic people like Judy Blume, Neil Gaiman, A. LaFaye, and so many more.
The downside is, my boss is impossible to work for. Before me, she went through an LAII an average of every five months. I've been here almost three years. She's past retirement, suffers from dementia, and they can't get rid of her because she is tenured.
I just had a 20 min panic attack in the bathroom, the likes of which I haven't had since I was doing telemarketing.
I'm done. Just. Done. The rest of today is going to be spent covertly checking job sites, and praying SOMEONE around here will hire me. I don't care that I'm almost 30 and would basically have to go back to retail. I'm flat-out done.
So. Anyone know of a place in Minneapolis that wants a wee Librarian? Or just someone that's completely insane, and willing to learn new stuff? I can archive! I can type! I am a bloody FANTASTIC people-person!
EDIT: The reason I'm pissy is she just totally rewrote my job without asking, adding payroll, budget balancing for the whole department, web updates, and a few other things. Okay. Fine. The problem is she's refusing to adjust my salary. "Because you're smart enough to be able to do all that." Yes. I am. Generally, you pay talented people to do things for you. She's refused my wage adjustment request, and says if I don't sign the new contract, she won't renew me. I have until Friday to decide.
And I don't want any *hugs* or *support* or anything like that. I am not in the mood. Unless you've got an actual lead, don't poke the Ahdari.
