Public Post - Fandom Pimping: Witch Hunter Robin

Aug 21, 2008 20:58

Okay, ya'll know I don't pimp often, so when I do, it means something.

I love Witch Hunter Robin. It's an older Sunrise title that was released through Bandai, and you might remember it from the Adult Swim run a few years ago, and the fact SciFi once optioned it for a live action show.

WHR is everything X-Files could (and should) have been. Conspiracy within conspiracy. Everyone has a hidden agenda, and it continues to twist right to the very very end. Watch past the end credits. Seriously.

Why do I bring this up now? One: I am trying to run plot for Fandom High. Yes, laugh. I'm laughing at myself.
Two: Someone on LJ is bloody brilliant. There's a comm where people are watching the series together, and they just started two weeks ago. I am so so so in, if my rehearsal schedule allows it.

It's usually easily available on YouTube, and I've downloaded them from various sites before.  Even better, the set as been released so many times and was so popular, it's considered an "Anime Classic" and you can buy it almost anywhere.

ETA:  And like
rushin_doll says, you can get it for under $40.  I got it for about $20 off of Amazon awhile ago, and it's currently selling for $20 at Buy.com

I'll admit, I'm a bigger fan of the sub than the dub.  The talent in the dub is fantastic, seriously, they got some of the best names at that time to do it.  The problem is the pacing and script, and sometimes it just falls a little flat, but either version is worth your time.

So go. Watch it. It's only 26 episodes. Six discs. Go check out the preview.  What do you have to loose?
