Sarah's speech

Let me start by saying I hate political speeches. A lot! But Sarah Palin's speech at the RNC was inspiring and impressive. I am particularly noticing how little she needs a teleprompter and her tendency to look out at the crowd and at least appear to make eye contact. Well, I disagree about the speech being inspiring, and not just because I strongly disagree with Palin's politics. It was a well-written speech, wielded by Palin like a dagger aimed squarely at Obama. Because the speech was so negative in tone--even when it was sarcastically funny--I didn't find in inspiring. But I was impressed by the delivery.

She's a talented politician. She's not optimistic enough in her tone to be Reagan, but she's got a similar charm otherwise. Democrats should not underestimate her.

she's definitely got a lot of the dealing-with-people and speechmaking skills that mccain really lacks.
