My father
My dad has been in declining health for years, but the last several months have been exceptionally difficult. He opted to stop dialysis treatments beginning this Monday. What this means is that he will have up to a week left. It is my understanding that he won't feel any worse than he already does now for this final week and that at the end he will simply fall asleep and not wake up. I am flying to Alaska tomorrow so that I may be with him for his final days and support my mom through this horrible time. I will have internet access, but it is unlikely that I will be regularly checking in, as I want to spend as much time as possible with my family. I have some thoughts and memories about my father that I will want to put down when I return, but for now I am not able to do so. I will return somewhere between two and three weeks from now and until then I ask that you send good wishes and prayers to my family.
