HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY
sepia_iris!
I hope you had an awesome day ♥
Welcome,
milkfed and
vibri! My name’s Tara, and my contact post is
over here. I hope we become good friends!
AT THE BEHEST OF MY FELLOW PERSONA FANS ON PLURK, I've thrown together a guide on how to install a Playstation emulator and run Persona 2: Innocent Sin with the patch. TRUST ME, THE PROCESS IS NOT AS INTIMIDATING AS IT LOOKS. It's just full of long download times and extraction. You're going to need around ~ 2 GB space for this, but more is always better. YOU CANNOT EVEN FATHOM HOW MUCH I REGRET DELETING THE EMULATOR/ISOS I ALREADY HAD. That would've cut the time it took to make this in half, sob. ANYWAY, enjoy, my brothers ♥
PS Emulator:
Step 1: Download a PS emulator if you’re not going to burn the ISO onto a disc. ePSXe is highly recommended, and you can download the zip archive here:
http://emulator-zone.com/doc.php/psx/epsxe.html Once you do that, extract it to DRIVE://Program Files/ePSXe, replacing DRIVE with C (for your computer) or D (for your flash drive/memory stick).
Step 2: Open up the extracted folded and double click on the exe file (it should be towards the bottom). You’ll probably get an error message saying you need zlib1.dll. You can download that here:
http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/Z/zlib1.dll/1.2.1.1429r/download.html Place it in the ePSXe folder. If you continue to get an error message after having the .dll, try placing it in your System32 folder if you’re downloading it to your computer.
Step 3: Double click on the exe file again. This time it should open normally. Click ‘config’ when it prompts you to do so. It’ll tell you that you need a BIOS, and you’re typically going to need scph1001.bin. You can get that here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GEW0PM4S Extract it to the bios folder in the ePSXe folder.
Step 4: Now you’re going to need some Plugins. Basically download each of these files and extract them to the Plugins folder:
Pete’s D3D (
http://www.bestdownload.com/view.php?detail=400 ) (make sure you select DX6 D3D when configuring)
Eternal SPU v1.41 (
http://www.emuxhaven.net/pluginpsx.shtml ) (it’s under the audio plugin section)
Step 5: Now continue with the configuration. The rest is relatively straightforward, so now you’re ready to play some games!
PERSONA 2: INNOCENT SIN
Step 1: First, you need to download the 7z file. Here it is:
http://www.filesend.net/download.php?f=9e675d7abf77dd6dbf545eb934d158aa (If you don’t have 7-zip, you can go here to get it:
http://www.7-zip.org/ )
This is pretty much slow as fuck even if you’re on a relatively good computer with superb internet speed. So pull up a chair and read some porn or something I DON’T KNOW
Step 2: When that’s done, extract it to wherever you want. You’re done with this file for now.
Step 3: Now you need to download the translation patch. Read very carefully, as this part can be a little confusing.
Scroll down to the bottom of the post here:
http://gemini.aerdan.org/forums/index.php?topic=80.0 And click on the first link (Translation v1.0a). Open up the zip and extract it to wherever you please.
Step 4: Now go to the place where you extracted the translation patch and click the patcher (it’s the exe file). For the first input, click browse and select the Persona 2 .bin file we downloaded before. For the second input, click browse and select the patch file that came with the translation download. Click “Patch-it!” and wait a few minutes. You can exit once it says 100%.
Step 5: Now we’re ready to play YEEEEAH (rock)! Open up the ePSXe .exe and click File >> Run ISO >> Persona 2 .bin. It should be working fine now!
So that's basically it! If you have any questions at all, let me know and I'll do my best to help. I'm not sure how long I should keep this up for because lol illegality!!! I'll probably delete it after a week or so. SO YEAH~
