Okay, here's some time to post and just keep everyone generally abreast of what I've been up to.
I'm working at Allstate, and have been since April 2008. I trained for 4 months, then was put on "the floor" and have been working property claims ever since (please reference journal posting of Policy advice I gave out.) NOTE: Property claims means I work with homeowners, renter's, condo owners, etc. I do NOT work automobile claims.
I specialize in thefts - I get to investigate them up to a point, and if I deem that someone is attempting fraud, I send the file with my recommendation for further legal investigation. If they seem legit, I pay it. So, I basically go to work and pay people money. Cool, huh? :) I really enjoy it, far more than I thought I would. I look forward to my time at work, between my investigations and my coworkers, we have a great time.
I took a second job at JoAnn Fabrics - well, I was actually there last year about this time. I went back during the summer, and work at the cutting counter with fabrics. I enjoy it, because it incorporates another part of my brain that I don't get to use at work - the creative, giving out advice and opinions for projects. I miss Becky though! :(
The only sucky part is that it makes some of my days during the work week very long - I end up working a 14 hour day. But hey, to live in Maryland, it's pretty much a necessity.
I've been dating a wonderful guy named John for the last 5-6 months, and it's been a dream come true - though at first I thought he was kinda of an insecure goober, he's now MY goober and I love him so much it's crazy. I won't keep going on about him, you can read the earlier posts where I'm sure I either bore you or want to make you barf, but there it is.
I signed up at Lifetime Fitness, the HUGE warehouse-like gym in Columbia that is only 1 mile from where I work. John and I signed up together to help beat off some of the holiday packing on of pounds. I really like it - rock climbing wall, every machine on the planet they've thought of for excercise, so many classes from martial arts to ballroom dancing, 24-7 access, eucylptus steam rooms, sauna, two indoor pools and one outdoor pool, and Pilates and yoga rooms separate from the excercise rooms. AWESOME. Oh, and they have a health cafe with REALLY good food, and a yuppified overpriced salon! :)
Basically, life has never been better, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I'm very content and happy, and perhaps may get even happier if John and I get the chance to get a place together sometime in 2009. I have never felt so secure, so content, so loved and so..at peace now that we're in each other's lives. He's everything I ever wanted, and so much more.
