I promise some day I'll write a real entry again. In the meantime, you can assume I am too busy to exist. Anyway, here are some things:
1. Today I met with a student who told me that he really liked my class, and that it was making him want add a second major in Sociology to his current History major. Sometimes, teaching is really rewarding.
2. I am so busy lately with my master's thesis that I scarcely have time to exist. Someday I'll update and tell you all about it!
3. I talked to Kim today. I will be flying to Jacksonville in March for her wedding. And the next weekend, if things go as planned, I will be flying to Boston to present my thesis research at my first real academic conference. Yes, we really are all growing up.
4. Fall leaves are nice, and I am enjoying wearing lots of colorful tights in the cool weather. But, I am still dreading real winter.
5. I think my father is mad at me, and I don't know what to do about it. I often feel like the situation is generally hopeless.
6. Now that I have been here over a year and am experiencing seasons for the second timer, Charlottesville is starting to feel like home. Nonetheless, I often still miss Sarasota so much it hurts.
7. I wish we all lived closer together.
8. I feel like I'm still adjusting to being 25.
9. For Halloween, I am dressing up as a robot who can empathize with other humans and then send them on international adventures in the future. I made my costume myself out of boxes, the tubing that connects the dryer to the wall, and abundant glitter.
