I saw 'Wicked' last night.
Color me awed.
The whole production was spectacular. Being the theatre nerd that I am I was very impressed by the elements of the set and the set itself. Hyrolic platforms, a dragon on the pro that moved and breathed smoke, and more gobos and lighting effects than you could shake a stick at. Plus the music is amazing and the cast did a great job.
The script was much more tounge-in-cheek than I was expecting, but overall very amusing. And I've been humming the score since I floated home last night. Great show.
And I brought home swag, since I cannot resist merchandise. I am now the proud owner of a poster, a magnet and a tank top proclaiming 'It's just life so keep dancing through'.
Yes, I am a nerd.
The apartment search proceeds apace. I have sent numerous emails and made many phone calls asking for prices and availability. We shall see. Of course, the downside to looking this early is that I can't actually afford to move in until the last week in March and most people renting now are looking for someone to fill the space immediately if not sooner. But I'm keeping a good thought and haven't stopped being glad that I started looking so early because I may need to switch gears in mid-search and now I have plenty of time in which to do that.
Jenny and I went to Santa Barbara Saturday, I saw Wicked yesterday, we're seeing My Chemical Romance this Saturday...my, if I didn't know better I'd say I had something of a social life!
