That was chilling.

I mean sweet, and wonderful, and paints a vivid picture, but also chilling.

But it's so light, how can it be so dark at the same time? (It's a bit like a nursery rhyme)

I'm in awe.

Thank you, and I'm very glad the fairytale/chilling effect worked! I'm so very glad you liked it.

That's just lovely. So sweet, but so sad given what happens to them later. And just so human. I can see Frank hopping from leg to leg as he's entranced by Alice :)

And as for the fandom stuff, just bleh. I didn't care about those sorts of people when they tried to make my life a misery at school and I surely don't care about them now.

Thank you :). I was trying to make it simply sweet and happy, but I think I'm too aware and sad over their fates, so a bit of sadness definitely crept in.

That's a gorgeous icon!

Lord Voldemort controversy
Very nice wording here.

who learned to waltz at the age of seven
Aww, such a sweet detail.

The last sentence had a chill running over me. Lovely story, perfectly written.

I must say that despite having spent more than one year of active time in fandom, I'm astounded over the waves all this is causing. Shipping wars? Stalking? Threatening? I ask you! *is still reading up on the wank*
But: Fandom is a hobby, a pastime, something enjoyable, yes? Or did I misunderstand something?
There are fuckwits everywhere, and it's not like anyone can expect them to behave themselves in VL, if they're not able to do so in RL. *continues to shake her head in astonishment*

NO! *has the giggle attack from hell*

YES! It had to be :).

The wank is ridiculous and unbelievable - and if you keep looking (which, really, really, don't - I've lost enough time over it for both of us), it just gets worse by the minute. This woman quite clearly does not give a shit about anybody but herself, and what makes it worse is that she did this all for BNF status in HP fandom. To quote theregoesyamum: Congratulations, your goals are thoroughly mediocre.

I find it entertainingly whacky, really so gar. There's absolutely no way for me to become entangled in it, and I won't be following it, but reading up on the background is very funny. There's a saying my native tongue: The best stories are written by life itself. :D And 'best' is to be understood as 'whackiest, most outrageous' here.

theregoesyamum got it right, no question there. *lol*

Btw, did you get that beta email I sent you on Monday (or was it Sunday?)?

Sorry - was so busy reading wank on Monday that your email went in one ear and out the other (er, or something). Yes, it's absolutely OK - send it on over whenever it's done!

I'm a bit pissed off (although I have no right to be, really) because I now realise that these people who acted like complete bitches coloured a lot of my early fandom experiences. HP was my first fandom, and I got into fic reading via the HP4GU mailing list, because they all used to pimp each other's fics on there. There was a real feeling that liking H/G and R/Hr was uncool, and that was an atmosphere that they helped to foster - spurred on and tricked by this frankly scary woman.

This is lovely, and Sebastian Boardman had me giggling like a madwoman.

Also, yes, it's been most disturbing. I'm quite bothered that so many people seem to accept and even want to have this American high school mentality in fandom. Shouldn't we try to be a bit more mature than that?

I think Shaggy's started a Stubby fandom singlehandedly!

And you'd think so, wouldn't you? Especially since most of these people seem to have started out on the Harry Potter 4 Grown-ups list. Sigh.

That's so sweet and sad.

Like everyone else, I loved the idea of 'Sebastian' Boardman next door. Alice and Muggle music! An odd young man whose name might have been David Bowie, although he appeared to change it with alarming regularity ♥

I loved Frank's awkwardness on the dance floor - I can remember feeling exactly the same the first time I went to a disco. Ballroom dancing definitely isn't any use there :)

Yes, I had a nightmare the first few times I tried dancing. Which is odd, because I love it now :).

And thanks - I wasn't very sure about posting this one, so I'm glad people seem to like it. hp_smutfree's up next - I'm writing like a bee this week!
