This is the kind of Snape-Harry fic I can happily read. Very good. I missed seeing a reaction to Sirius' death, but I guess it was always Potter (or Lily?) that Snape fixated on, and anyway to fit the fic it would more have to be Snape's reaction to Harry's reaction to...
Glad you liked! I did think about putting in Snape's reaction to Sirius's death, especially as he does get a couple of mentions, but I couldn't quite work it in.
Thank you! I did contemplate Snarry, but chickened out...
I have no problem with you saying you love any of my icons! This one is by valancy_s, and it makes me giggle, although thinking about it I should probably have used one of my Snape icons.
Thank you so much, this was brilliant! I'll give you proper feedback tomorrow, as I'm just about ready to collapse into bed. Just wanted to say thanks for a truly wonderful birthday present :-)
First of all, thank you. I loved this. I really liked the counting-down effect, that worked beautifully, I thought - especially with the surprise at the end, that it did not in fact stop at 1 or 0, but went on. I also (as ever) enjoy your language a great deal, you have a very spare and neat form of expression which really works. And some bits, like:
One year down, six to go
...made me laugh, because they were so beautifully Snapey. (Incidentally, while you might not think this is Snarry, I think it qualifies - at least, had I read it as a prologue to a Snarry fic, it would have made me go oooooh! in expectation. But then, of course, my brain is programmed that way).
Another thing I really like about your writing is that you stick so closly to canon. That adds to the very 'real' feel of your fics, I always think.
Hm, I'm not too sure this was proper feedback after all. Well. Messy feedback, then.
Any feedback that's as nice as yours is fine by me :).
Ha - the countdown took me by surprise, too, when it went past zero! But suddenly it just seemed to work that way.
Thinking about it, it would work quite well as a prologue to a Snarry fic, wouldn't it? Interesting, although I'm not going to go there. I certainly did try to capture what I see as Snape's obsession with getting the upper hand over Harry, which kind of ends up being his obsession with Harry generally.

And there, my dear lyras, you have the essence of all Snarry everywhere. Or of all good Snarry, anyway.
*secretly hopes you'll come round sooner or later*

You have to mean these things, and so for a moment you concentrate on all the injuries you've ever borne on Albus's behalf,
But no injuries that Albus has directly done him.

And I know people hate it when you say things like this, but I love that icon.
