Preliminary sign-ups for nevillebigbang end soon!
I've pretty much decided that long fandom fics aren't for me unless they happen by accident, so am giving this one a miss - but I'm glad to see so many people on my flist signing up!
Another fannish thing coming up is Remix Redux 8, and I'd really like to participate again this year. I'm wondering if it's worth trying to get some BSG ficlets posted before sign-ups start, but I really want to rewatch all the episodes before writing any fic*, and I certainly don't have time to do that in the next few weeks. Unless I just write things based on the miniseries and season one? Hmm.
I've been enjoying the drabbles and ficlets over at hpgw_ldws - the standard seems to go up each week, and I've discovered a couple of new (to me) authors to keep an eye on. Any Harry/Ginny fans who aren't yet aware of the comm should take a look! I'm kind of glad I couldn't join in this time, though, because I often fail pretty hard at prompt-based writing, and I think the competition aspect would make me even more likely to freeze up! Especially since writers only seem to have a couple of days to produce something. That said, I suspect I'll still be tempted to sign up if there's another round.
I'm going to spend this evening cooking (not sure what yet, but beanballs with spaghetti followed by a plum crisp are sounding tempting) and getting myself organised - am all out of whack what with holidays and then (predictably) getting ill as soon as I got home. Which means that tomorrow I will hopefully spend less time staring aimlessly at the screen and more time doing productive things like writing and invoicing.

*Except for one set of Kara/Lee vignettes that has been sitting unfinished on my hard drive since September. Maybe I should do something with that.
