The only way out is up
The job hunt is at that really weird stagnant point again. The point where I've applied to everything that even remotely interests me/I'm qualified for and have gotten tentative nibbles but that haven't materialized into anything better than a "we're interested, we'll call you sometime." And the waiting game does nothing for me besides gnaw away at my self-esteem and up my stress levels.
Which inevitably bleeds into the creative hobby side of the brain and gets me to the point where I don't have the energy or confidence to do anything. But I know this feeling, and I know the only way out of this morose hole I've dug myself into is up.
So, in the interest of reminding myself how much life doesn't suck, have some love.
Real Life Things That Don't Suck
* My apartment is lovely (even if it needs a vacuuming).
* My friends are spectacularly entertaining people.
* NaNoWriMo is coming and I might actually be able to make write-ins this year.
* I have had my license nearly a full year and not had an accident yet (knock on wood), which is a better record than either Hubs or the SiL.
* I will be able to make whatever the hell I want for Thanksgiving dinner.
* I am slowly (very slowly) running and getting in shape.
Online Things That Don't Suck
* secondcityrpg is working out better than I could have dreamed
* be_enthralled /godofcologne make for surprisingly fun frienemies.
* becauseimboring /theblackstaff make me smile because somehow they work as student and teacher
* brotherly snarking between outtabubblegum and godofcologne
* nottobetouched and gift_girl are both wonderful. I can't choose.
* skysung makes me smile no matter how shit the day's been
* Nobody has yet gotten mad at me or tried to run me out of town for playing godofcologne or (more importantly) truewhitequeen
* I get to play against some of the nicest, sweetest, most levelheaded people ever, including the entire playerbase of secondcityrpg
Up up up.
