Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves...

... that's exactly what job hunting feels like right now.

The aforementioned beatings have really put me into a rut, mentally/emotionally/creatively, but I am going to pull my sorry ass out of it or kill myself trying. Which means updating more and doing more random stuff besides sitting around sending out resumes and moping about how nobody is looking at me.

So, things that are currently on the burners (that are not job-related):
Perfect saag paneer recipe - I found the recipe for my favourite Indian restaurant's saag paneer online and tried making it two weeks ago. It was watery, but the base flavours were there, so I'm trying to tweak it and figure out what steps weren't included. Made it last week, and I'm getting closer. The spices need tweaking and the texture is not quite right, but it's getting closer. Will share once it's done right. This has been made easier since I found a great Indian grocery store a few blocks down the street, and they stock every spice known to man (seriously, the store smells amazing) as well as paneer. I mean, what's not to love about creamed spinach with cheese?

Start the sequel to Gathering Storm - I'm not going to wait until next NaNo to write the sequel. The opening scene hit me while running on Saturday, and now I've just got to sit down and catch the characters again. Maybe it's time to do another short and get everyone roused and awake again.

Get things together for Second City - Not much to say about this other than I need to get things together to pull my weight around here. Gotta get things done before endgame sneaks up on us.

And on a completely unreleated note, just got linked to an article on Jezebel about the US Antactica Program starting to screen women for pregnancy before being deployed. Maybe I've just been too indoctrinated by the patriarchy, but... who the hell would want to be pregnant in fucking Antarctica?
