Oh my holy God. As if Alabama didn't suck enough, now they've got legislation attempting to ban all books and textbooks that mention gays in a positive way.
Additionally, a freako religious cult is moving to South Carolina to secede from the union and make their own "Godly" state.
Not that the latter would ever happen, but seriously... maybe we should just let them. I'd love to see how well they get along without the rest of the country's tax dollars to prop them up. Do they export enough to afford all the stuff they'd need to import from the rest of the country? What would we really be losing, except for Charleston, which is a pretty cool city (and a great place to spend Spring Break with your friends)? I mean, if we could get all the religious nutjobs (and not all religious people are nutjobs, blah blah blah) out of America, then maybe the rest of the country can get on with the business of progressing into the twenty-first century instead of hurling ourselves back into the Dark Ages.
