This weekend at Shalom rocked my socks. I learned some things about certain people that really made me think, or wonder, or realize how blind I was (people at the conference and also in my life).... And I spent most of the weekend latched onto the PLU students (gasp!), which is actually pretty cool because they are awesome and they invited me to go camping with them! God is good.
One thing I learned is that God has been helping me forgive other people in my life, those who have done baaaad things to me... and I've easily forgiven them... but I forgot one important step. FORGIVE MYSELF! See, I look back at the girl I used to be in high school, and I think, oh, *that* girl and I roll my eyes. I have no sympathy for who I was... even though that girl was a product of all who treated her the way they did. I have no sympathy because it was *HER* fault for being weak, and stupid, and worthless.
Anyone else (besides my counselor and Carol) see the error in that statement!
Yeah, so that's the next step.
FORGIVE MYSELF and have sympathy... a heart of understanding. Its funny because Shalom means Peace, our goal as christians on earth and also in our very hearts. I am at peace with God, with who I am now, but I need to reconcile with that little girl I used to be. God is GOOD!
Bout to take a run, literally, to the grocery store for some veggies. :) Have a blessed day!

You are wise and a great leader. Just because you are small doesn't mean you don't have a lot of oomph behind it.
