Japan Trip Day Two

Mar 27, 2010 22:06

Today was a beautiful but cold day.

The local 100¥ store was super awesome even though it's only across the road.

We decided to go visit Osaka Castle Park. It was gorgeous and sunny. I spent several mins enjoying the beauty of the bonsai (cherry blossoms & maples were amazing) and plants available particularly one stand which had exquisite orchids. If I wasn't living in NZ I'd have bought several plants to take home.

The castle was huge and had beautiful gilt decorations on it. We skipped the museum as the line was quite long.
I tried sakura ice cream for the first time and it was delicately sweetened. I've never had a tastier cone before either.

I'm also having incredibly bad luck with gashapon. Yesterday I had a 1 in 4 chance of getting the one I didn't want. Guess which one I got? Today I had a 1 in 6 chance. Guess which one I got again? The 2nd try was alot better. ^^;

I took so many photos my camera gave out halfway through the Aquabus 60 min trip.

Walking American Mura was interesting seeing the brands we knew so well but with fashions alot different from the things we're used to seeing.

Dinner was at the Big Step shopping centre in American Mura. I had squid ink spaghetti with calamari for ¥499. It was cheap, delicious but very messy to eat and look at since the ink stuck everywhere on the lips and teeth.

Another trip to the Daimaru Grocery shopping wielded breakfast again.
