Odd Gift
I haven't gotten many gifts, but I suppose the oddest one would be the alethiometer. The master of Jordan College gave it to me, right before I left with my mother Ms. Coulter. It's a symbol reader, and if I focus just so, I can ask it questions, and it gives me answers. I'm the only one who can read it so easily to; anyone else has to spend years studying just to learn what all the symbols can mean. It's been really useful to, since sometimes it gives me directions.
I don't know how it works exactly, just that it uses Dust. I bet you have to have a daemon or something to make it work.
