2 Years!!! Well, it feels like longer because we've been through a hell of a lot together..... so yesterday we celebrated by jordan working and me cleaning.... no just kidding, that was in the morning and then he got off around 2 and then we made our plans.... we decided to go see war of the worlds finally and it was suprisingly still in theatres and i am so glad we saw it that way.... it was way better than i anticipated.... i hadn't heard anything about it, so i assumed the worst... but it was pretty damn good.... jordan and i had a pretty decent discussion about what if's on the way to dinner (btw i actually dressed up AND put makeup on *GASP*) anyway, so we got to the restaurant, called Marrakesh, which is a Moroccan restaurant and we sat on these little pillows on the ground and there were rugs everywhere, even on the walls and the ceiling looked like sheets draped like a tent, definately a cool environment. so we get seated and by that time, my top is falling apart literally.... when the night began, there was a small gap in between the fabric and the strap, which i was like okay no biggie, it shouldn't do much more... was i ever wrong.... by the time we had gotten to marrakesh, it had torn all the way the middle of my armpit and the fabric had become a flap, nearly coming off of my boob... so of course i didn't have a safety pin, so i tucked the extra fabric along with the loose strap underneath my bra and held my arm very still... it was pretty funny, but at the same time, everytime i moved, it came undone and i was getting frustrated.... plus it doesn't help that everywhere i go, there are always mexicans and they always stare at me.. i don't get it, i've never gotten attention like that from guys and now all i get is mexicans... sheesh.... anyway, so i'm tucking the shirt back in and the waiter comes up and washes our hands for us... we place our hands on top of a bucket and he uses what looks like a watering can and holds it up high and rinses our hands off. so then almost immmediately, we get the 1st of 5 courses... definately worth the 17.50 each... so the 1st course is soup, lentil soup, which i've never had so at first it was a little spicy, but then as i got used to that it was really good.... before we even finished our soups, the next course came out, our "salad", which was a few pieces of lettuce topped with two kinds of dipping mixes, one that was kinda like salsa and the other had so many tastes that i couldn't put my finger on it, anyway it was good and we dipped it with bread... by that time, the music got loud and to my left, a belly dancer came out... she was really good and now i want to take belly dancing lessons..... (i even let jordan put a few dollars in her skirt :P) so she entertained us for about 30 min to an hour.... in which time we had our next course which looked like a big pastry, it was a hollow flaky piece of bread with powdered sugar and cinnamen on the top and was filled with meat and veggies and eggs... i wasn't too sure that it'd be that good, but it was awesome..... definately going to have to find the recipe somewhere.... if anyone knows, let me know.... so after we finished that, (we were definately getting full by that time and we hadn't even had the main course yet) we finally got our main courses which jordan had beef kabob's and i had lamb with eggplant. it was pretty good... jordan kept saying the potatoes were good, so i looked over and his "potatoes" were zucchini. So i told him what it really was and he was like, i don't know what that is, i said a relative of cucumber... so he was suprised, but he really liked it... anyway, i still like lamb, but i learned that i really don't like eggplant at all.... in the middle of the main course, the belly dancer left, a little boy following her with money telling her she dropped it... it was cute. anyway so once she left, the music quieted down and jordan and i could actually talk... we ended up talking about when we want to move back to midwest and how we would both like to start our own businesses and how that would work and when we'd be ready to buy a house and when we wanted to have kids.... good conversations today... (oh, sidenote that i just remembered... one of the songs was Aisha, which Keech you will know, but anyway, when it was playing, of course it was in moroccan, but a big crowd was singing along, so apparantly it's a really popular song, suprise suprise) so then we finally had dessert, which was vanilla custard with coconut and cinnamen, and a mint tea, which was pretty good.. then the waiter washed our hands again with rose water which smelled soooo good and we were done... so it was an awesome "ending" to an awesome day.... i'll spare you the details of the real ending, which i'm sure none of you want to hear ;) alright, off to catch up on homework.....
