I have, somewhere down the line, learned to take care of myself

So I quit Peet's about a month ago. It was time. When the only thing keeping you at your job is the camaradarie of your co-workers making fun of your job with you, it's not worth it anymore. It's also not worth it when your shoulders begin to ache at all hours and your wrists stiffen and your forearms tense, just because you've been pulling shots and steaming milk all day.
I was unemployed for about a week, during which I mostly drove around in my dad's car visiting close friends and family. After I got back I honestly started freaking out about not having money for the summer and the inability to sustain regular employment over three months when I have to leave all the time in the middle of it. Fortunately, within two days I had three jobs!
1) I have been working at Hello! Lucky, a high-end stationary company in Potrero Hill. I spend eight hours packaging, folding, cutting and scoring cards. It's detailed, repetitive, and pretty. I don't have to deal with customers, I can wear whatever I want, and I am encouraged to listen to music all day. Sweet deal.
2) I'm back to photoshopping pictures for Gado Gado. Work from home, set my own hours, stare at a computer. Nice.
3) This power lesbian Naomi has hired me to illustrate the mock up for the do-it-yourself stationary kit she's proposing to Chronicle Books. She's paying me a month's rent, and now she wants me to illustrate her corresponding storybook. Major exposure, adequate money, and I get to hang out with a crazy lesbian who thinks I'm amazing. Excellent!
Thus is my life so far. The difficulty lies in the impending departure, but I'm working through that.
p.s. I started a photo blog. The URL (I want you to see it, not just click it) is iamanartstudentwhatamidoing.blogspot.com.
Check it.
